What the Hell was that?! If they wanted to incorporate the animated movie into the live show, fine, but don't do it the other way around! Don't show the entire animated movie where the live portions (only the musical numbers) are interludes! Otherwise, I can just watch the movie itself!
I've never seen the stage musical, so I don't know if this also happened there, but... there's an inconsistency. Shaggy as SEBASTIAN wore a red suit instead of a crab costume. That's not a problem; it's a theatre rule. However, the company did use animal costumes, including the crabs in the CHEF LOUIE scene. And some animals were played by puppets.
What a shame. All the actors did a good job. I'd be happy to see them do the whole show, especially if the production quality is this good.
