This is a great show to go back to, it really captures what it was like being a kid in the 90s growing up in New York or similar cities. there was a realness factor about it too which made you think it could actually be happening which is what modern day special effects kind of take away from shows like this. it also shows you how fun it was to solve mysteries as a kid where you didn't have the internet to solve everything for you.

Yep. Great kids show from the 90s that I grew up watching. The episodes were put together rather well. Relatable characters, and entertaining stories which engaged in many ways.
3 things that etched in my mind from the show;
1.Hector loved to play handball. It was an obsession. For whatever reason it stuck with me.
2. (Oh yeah, oh yeah) ‘You gotta believe’ song
3. Gooey Gus... “I’m burning man. I’m steaming man”.

They have rebooted the show on Apple TV. but I think the updated special effects takes away the charm and realness that the old show had. I think just going around your neighbourhood trying to solve little mysteries is more relatable than fantastical creatures.

I actually wasn't a kid when it was on but I did watch it once in a while.

This new adaptation doesn’t sound as grounded in its stories... obviously excluding the ghostwriter element. It reminds me of the Goosebumps movie turned into episodic adventures. Looking at its IMDb page... the user rating isn’t flattering.

I was aware of it but had no interest. I remember it being one of the few shows when i would stay at my cousins as a kid, he would like to watch but i would rather be doing anything else. Not sure why...i just think the premise didn't grasp child me.
