My mother knows how to do this. She used to shock us with it when we were younger.

Catman knew a guy who liked to demonstrate how he could remove an orange peel in one piece. Of course, there was a slight trick to it. He selected the orange he would peel in advance and rolled it around with slight pressure for a while. Of course, this meant he never would perform the trick at anyone else's house.
He's dead now.

My mother knows how to do this. She used to shock us with it when we were younger. Oh, that's so cute. Did you learn the pattern? It's hard to see, step-by-step, in the video. On a cruise to Mexico, one of the chefs held a demonstration of the fun things that can be done with fruits, veggies, a knife ... and the know how. He spiraled pieces of produce, and turned them into flowers. And, he made little figures of animals, using pieces/peel from a variety of things. It was amazing. Some of us were interested in seeing figures carved from ice, or butter. He confessed that those were done in mold, in freezers.

I go regularly to a Pan Asian restaurant for carry out. When there, I often see and Asian lady peeling mangos. Though not a citrus fruit, this lady is able to skin a whole mango in about 5 seconds. She uses a tool, but I marvel at her ability to peel those so quickly. And it is a hand tool, not an electric one.

i wish i could peel a mango correctly! I used to use a mango splitter, but those things are stupid. I just stand the mango up on my plate and cut the two fat sides off, going around the pit by feel with the knife. That gives you two huge chunks to work with and from there, you simply pull the peel right off. Then you can cut the other two smaller strips off. There's still some meat around the pit that you can eat, kind of like the apple core. Kinda like this (I found this video after trying to describe how I do it above): I've seen others use a peeler to remove the entire peel first, but that seems silly.

I read this as "peeing citrus." well, there's an art to that too.
