Thanks for the tainted title, don't let the door hit your cheating ass on the way out, ok?
Good riddance.....
Now, we got to see what the Sox plan to do with who takes over.

They should hire Hinch and sit on him for a year. That's kind of what I said, except that Houston should also hire Cora and do the same. I'm thinking that would just draw bigger penalties from Manfred... I'm sure he would find a way.

He wasnโt all that last year Totally agree. And it started in spring training with his decision to coddle Sale, Price, and Eovaldi. Those guys threw like 3 innings against actual competition in Florida, and then you're handing them the ball up in cold Seattle and Oakland to start the season. Stupid move which affected the top 3 starters in negative fashion. The way the 2019 Sox played had me questioning just how good the 2018 team actually was. Now it seems like we're finding out the answers.

Didn't Cora play 2B for the Dodgers, with Cesar Izturis if I remember correctly? What did they do to piss him off, and I hope he's happy now, screwing them out of a World Series or two.

As bad as all this is, think of the Dodgers and their fans. It's hard to feel bad for rich fucks from Hollywood, but they were totally screwed out of 2 titles. That's rough stuff.

One name I heard to replace him, Dustin Pedroia. Donโt laugh, how much experience did Aaron Boone and Rocco Baldelli have

Didn't the Astros, even cheating as they were, barely beat the Yankees to take the ALCS in 2017? You really think the World Series is Astros Dodgers without the Astros cheating?

I saw this fun video from ESPN last night with Olberman going through the history of organized sign stealing in MLB. Nobody had ever been punished for it until now.
Anyway, it seems like the Sox system was much more complicated and would've yielded poor results compared to the Astros system, but it was still cheating. Too bad, because that team was good enough to win anyway. They had the best record in baseball from spring training on; knowing nothing about the investigation, I somehow doubt they were using their particular cheat code method in spring training. On a related note, since sign stealing is so prevalent in baseball, maybe they shouldn't have a 'replay room' steps away from the dugout? You're asking for trouble, aren't you? Either way the Sox title is tainted because we'll never know how much of an advantage they gained, only that an elctronic sign stealing system was used during game play, which is a violation in itself. (Contrast this to the Patriots for example, where no former players, coaches or executives can cite any examples of the team actually using the taped signals during preparation or game play.)
It really is a shame, though I feel MLB is sending mixed messages with the way they've adjudicated the matter thus far. Suspending a manager & GM for an entire year seems like a harsh penalty if it doesn't include stripping the title. If what they did was bad enough to get them booted from the sport for a year, you're essentially saying they only won due to the cheating. If that's the case, take the titles away. (Hey, my 9x champs Sox hat just became a collector's item!)
And what about the players involved? Why aren't they penalized? Why didn't they cry foul until after they got their championship rings and skipped town? Suddenly they have a conscience? Honestly if you really wanted to drop the hammer Kenesaw Mountain Landis style, you'd suspend the whole damn roster a year and make the team play with replacement players. (And I'm not saying that just so I can live the dream in left field at Fenway.)

He should be banned for life or at least indefinitely. Banned for life seems kind of overload, I mean he didn't kill anybody or commit a violent crime. A 5-10 year ban would be a pretty better punishment. Make no mistake, I don't think the guy should be near a MLB field for a long time. I'm sure we will disagree on this, but I think the stuff that guys like Cora, Pete Rose, and the "Eight Men Out" White Sox did is far worse than anything guys like Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa did. To me anyways....

That said, I do not think any team would ever use him because of the stigma.
