The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced this year’s inductees:
Nine Inch Nails the Notorious B.I.G. Whitney Houston Depeche Mode the Doobie Brothers T. Rex
Additionally, Jon Landau and Irving Azoff, two of the most successful managers in rock history, will be presented with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5, Motörhead, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, and Thin Lizzy were all on the ballot this year, but failed to receive enough votes.

It always strikes me as a very silly thing, about as un-rock 'n' roll as it's possible to get, but the fact that Kraftwerk are not in it makes it even more of a farce and shows that whomever is in charge knows very little about music and it's influence.

There’s snubs every year but the ones who made it are all deserving.

Pretty bad year for actual rock music, but since we've basically broadened the scope to "popular music hall of fame," I can't say that those who got in aren't deserving. Biggest snubs are Priest, Motorhead, and Kraftwerk.

They need to change the name to the "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame.
Whitney Houston and Notorious B.I.G. are as much Rock and Roll as Beethoven and Lawrence Welk. Meanwhile Judas Priest and Motorhead lose out again
John Lydon was right, its a piss stain. I look forward to Boxcar Willie's induction in 2021

Would've thought Pat Benatar would go in way before all those people. Never cared much for her but in her day, she was enormous. Even her hairstyle was very popular. Remember the scene in Fast Times At Ridgemont High?

There’s snubs every year but the ones who made it are all deserving. I’m not 100% sold on T Rex or the Doobie Brothers, but if it makes their fans’ day, good for them, I guess.

The RRHOF is what it is. I’m tired of getting upset at each years’ snubs or thinking things like “I can’t belive this band got in before that band!” The whole process needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

I've accepted the fact that there will always be bands and artists that get selected that have me scratching my head, but honestly the list of artists that didn't get in are better than the ones that got selected.
I'll take Pat Benatar over Whitney Houston, Thin Lizzy over T-Rex, Todd Rundgren over The Doobie Brothers, Soundgarden over Nine Inch Nails, and so on......

It's really the Rock & Roll Era Hall of Fame. The music of the era and its influences.

Said it before, like Joe Montana and Wilt Chamberlain going into the Baseball HOF. Are the Beatles in the Country Music HOF?

Another year, another post from me saying it's criminal that Judas Priest has yet to be inducted. Motorhead would have been a good choice too.

Well at least I can't complain anymore that Depeche Mode & T-Rex were snubbed. Still have Kraftwerk though
