So now former pitcher Jack McDowell is saying that Tony Larussa had an elaborate sign-stealing system set up at Comiskey Park when he managed the White Sox. Apparently, there was a Gatorade sign out in centerfield that would light up or flash on certain pitches, kind of similar to the trash can banging in Houston.
Now Jack McDowell is not the most popular guy in the game, I know his personality rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but there's a lot of dark stuff with Tony Larussa over the years. The steroid years pretty much started with his Oakland A's of the late-80s. I've never trusted the guy.
And wouldn't you know that Larussa was sliming his way into the Red Sox organization with his good buddy Dave Dombrowski as Alex Cora "led" the Sox to the 2018 title.
Ugh....ugh.....ugh....and more ughs.
You know what? In the 2018 ALCS, Brock Holt hit for a cycle with like 12 RBIs in a game at Yankees Stadium. Why am I suddenly wondering about this???

Because it's Brock Holt? Seriously, Canseco, McGwire and LaRussa. Them (with Ricky) were my baseball heroes in my pre-teen years, into my 20s. Who'd have thought Ricky Henderson would be the best of them? I guess Carny Lansford is my #2 from that era now.

All that I've heard is what he did with White Sox, but there are definitely questions about his Oakland A's teams, so who knows?

Stealing signs has been part of baseball from day one, however what the Astros did is beyond the pale and its ridiculous that none of their players are being punished.

This is getting silly. Now people are analyzing the uniforms of Astros players for electronic devices. Like the Zapruder film

Certainly and those guilty should be punished. But lets not pretend this only started in 2017. And i don't believe the players should be punished. What, is a player going to say "No, I don't want to know what's coming?". And professional sports teams are a fraternity. look at the blowback Mike Fiers is getting
