I LOVED this show, but absolutely DESPISED the last season and the ending. I even bought the DVD set and got a few other people into the show before season 6. They all still hate me for it because they had the same reaction! I never did buy season 6.

Sadly, season 6 was a let down, despite a few good episodes and performances. I think the writers were trying to be too big and mysterious and lost (no pun intended) sight of what fans really loved about the show.

I didn't watch it when it first came out. I binged it on Netflix. I Loved The Show. From beginning to the end. I thought the ending was wonderful and it made me cry. I started watching Person of Interest because it had Michael Emerson. And now I want to watch it again.

It was a great show. I think they went a bit overboard with all those flash forwards and flashbacks and all that. But it was good.

Sept 2014 10th anniversary, I watched S1. 2015 S2; 2016 S3. I think I may redo that rotation again Sept 2020 back to S1. Another fun mini binge I've done a couple times is re-watch each season premiere & finale, 12 eps. That's an easy week to accomplish.

Great show. Could have been perfect if they went with a different idea for season 6.

I enjoyed Lost for the first three seasons, then at the beginning of Season 4 they introduced five new characters all at once – none of which I cared for. I mean, throughout the first three seasons they introduced some new characters here and there, and made some of them regulars, but not so many all at the same time. I just didn’t care for the new regulars of Season 4 and lost interest from that season onward (although stuck with the show until the bitter end).
I liked that my favourite female character on the show, Juliet (played by Elizabeth Mitchell), got to be in the first scene of a season (the Season 3 premiere) and the last scene of a season (the Season 5 final).
I always loved seeing Vincent the dog.
I had originally thought the “smoke monster” was going to turn out to be some sort of weird-looking contraption with someone operating it (one of the sounds it made sounded like a winch to me) and that it emitted smoke around it to conceal what it truly was.
I’ll forever have Lost to thank for getting these two songs stuck in my head (although I did like both songs before the show ever used them): ‘Downtown’ by Petula Clark and ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’ by Mama Cass.

This is my favorite show of all-time. While I felt the ending could have been better, I don't hate it like most people do and was sad to see it go. I try not to re-watch it that much simply to prevent fatigue on the show. I haven't yet found anything currently on the air that captures the essence of what made this show so great.

You might want to check out The Leftovers, which is another Damon Lindelof creation.

I've got the Blu-Ray of the first season, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I will eventually, though.

I loved LOST, though it did lose its way a bit in Season 6. But I was more disappointed than mad, especially upon learning that the creators basically admitted years later that they had lost their way (no pun intended) and really didn't have a clear vision on how to end it.
That aside, it was a fantastic journey, but just a so-so destination.

I'd say that's a great summation.

Over all the show was ok. But the last 3 seasons was a lot weaker than the first 3.

This was MY SHOW when it was on. My coworker was equally obsessed and both of us discussed it for eons. The ending wasn't what we were led to think it would be, but wouldn't trade the journey for anything.

I'm about 3/5ths of my way through season 5. It's the longest gap between re-watching of the season apart bingeing the first 4 beforehand in 2010 (I'm doing one season every September).
I think the show has crystalized for me with S1 as long form masterpiece, & S2-6 being a bit like bonus seasons for deeper dives. The S1 callbacks began around S4 once the show was on trajectory to finish.
I remember how much so many (including myself) by season 6 were on Ben's side, feeling sorry for him at The End. S5 right now, I can't remember when or why we started feeling that lols. Maybe S6 when he's dream job teaching & with family.
What I love most about S5 is the Oceanic Dharma crew, really shining with Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, Jin, & Faraday. Least, the countless layers of exposition in LA, to make sure everything gets tied up nicely & accessibly. Feels like Arrested Development season 4.
I wonder how LOST will fare in the future, 10-25yrs from now. Wonder if ppl who aren't born yet will try it out.
