*Insert joke about Lebron's mom here*
But seriously though, this isn't the first time something like this has happened to the guy. Hope he gets the help he clearly needs.

Good god, did they handcuff the man who was beating him and stomping him while he lay motionless in the street?? I hope Martelli gains some ground in helping West. If you or anyone spot a (legit) GoFundMe, or similar effort, from Martelli, Nelson etc. for West, please post a link on this board. Thank you.

And it's not frivolously that I note an interest in an effort to help him once one is started by someone who actually knows where to find him. He is clearly suffering, for some years, with torturous mental illness. He was publicly known to have been diagnosed bipolar, then he claimed that wasn't true, and there was this a few years ago (when he was videoed supposedly panhandling and said he was doing it for a homeless friend who is quadriplegic): www.mysanantonio.com/sports/nba/article/Former-Dallas-Maverick-was-spotted-supposedly-8330106.php

That St. Joes team was a blast to watch.
Town was in a frenzy to an extent behind them going into March Madness - think they had 1 loss going into the tourney and Okla State beat them in a heart breaker in the Elite 8 with a last second shot which broke my heart.
A shame what happened to this guy.
I remember when he played at Joe's other Big 5 colleges around here would heckle him during games because of the birthmarks on the kids face - it was just too over the top IMO to heckle a college kid like that.
Hope he eventually gets some help. Years ago he was apparently asking for money in a McDonalds parking lot looking like a bum - previously he was found speeding down bridge at ridiculous speeds on a motorcycle with a shotgun on his back.
He probably needs to be sent to a mental facility for an extended period of time.

This is depressing. You know what's worse? The countless other homeless folks with mental problems in America (and the world) that have no access to treatment and don't even have the luxury of being former NBA players to get people to remember they exist at all.

What was he arrested for? Just curious what he did besides get beat up. Honestly not sure. He was getting stomped on pretty well (if that was indeed him; it was hard to tell who was lying down as you couldn’t see the face). I don’t get how the stomper wasn’t the one being arrested for the excessive force (unless he was and it wasn’t reported on). I’m sure more details will come to light soon.

No website seems to be reporting on what he was charged with, or why he was arrested. Just the fact he was beaten and talking incoherently.

Apparently the two guys knew one another but declined to press charges. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28533771/officer-suspended-filming-ex-player-delonte-west-handcuffs

The cop is the one who filmed and posted that video to social media, or released it to someone else who did? What a dickbag.
