So I've been working in LA for the past few weeks which has prevented from engaging in the forum world to any great degree and it's not likely to get better. What the heck did I get myself into beyond making more money.
Anyway, it had been years since I had been to LA and most of the time I was there, it was weather wise, miserable.
It was cold or rainy much of the time plus it was dark by the time I got done with work. The weekends were great though since I could visit a different beach (Although Hollywood was very overrated. I was taken aback by just how much LA was like a Lexington, KY that was just 30 times bigger, next to a beach, & selling homes for about 5 or 6 times what one could get in my hometown.
I saw firsthand their "storm" and how a little bit of rain brought the city to something of a standstill.
They were truly alarmed at the sight of so much rain with nary a downpour, thunder, or lightening. In Kentucky, it would be considered a spring shower.
To be fair, a little bit of rain does cause havoc there, Everything in California apparently erodes or floods at the mere thought of water and there was definitely a lot of flooding.
For some reason, the roads lack a slight incline on both sides of the lane that allows the drain off of water, which in turn creates small ponds through the streets, which in turn causes hydroplaning.

The rain caused equal havoc at the airport. There were cancellations on Friday which leads me to today (Or yesterday at this point) My flight was scheduled for Saturday. Everything went fine all the way until I got to the plane. We were stuck and the pilot was mad about it. He routinely got on the intercom and blamed LAX. He turned back and hooked back up to the gate and said anyone who wanted to could leave and reschedule. Delta told me it would be better for me to continue on this flight and get a hotel since I had already missed my connecting flight and I would wind up in Lexington later if I stayed and took another flight in LA. Made sense. I get to Minneapolis where they immediately tell me at the desk that there are no hotel rooms. So here I am at 2:30 in the morning, still on Pacific time waiting to get on a flight that takes off at 5:20
