The article is dated January 5th, but I'm just now learning about this one. Donnie Yen called his Rogue One character a 'Cliché'. Add another disappointed Star Wars name to the growing list... Donnie Yen on Rogue One Character

Harrison Ford Mark Hamill David Prowse Timothy D. Rose Alec Guinness Natalie Portman George Lucas Samuel L. Jackson who else? Oscar Isaac and John Boyega both evidently didn't like the way the romances turned out.

Harrison Ford Mark Hamill David Prowse Timothy D. RoseAlec Guinness Natalie Portman George Lucas Samuel L. Jackson who else?I feel so bad for Rose. He said he was 'in tears' after Ackbar's 'big joke' death in Episode 8. He's such a sweet guy, whom I've encountered on several occasions. Very passionate about Star Wars. Ackbar and Rose deserved better. Andy Serkis (Expressed disappointment with how Snoke was taken out in Episode 8 but stood by the decision to do so) Billy Dee Williams (Expressed criticism of Solo's handling of Lando) Anthony Daniels (Expressed disappointment with how little C-3PO had to do in the new movies) Ben Burtt (Expressed disappointment with how he was sidelined by Lucasfilm/Disney and not allowed to work on the new movies) J. J. Abrams (Expressed disappointment with how Episode 8 said 'nothing mattered' from the prior movies) Liam Neeson (Said he 'liked' Episode 8 but 'found it to be an hour too long') Tom Kane (As the voice of Admiral Ackbar since Erik Bauersfeld’s death, he expressed disappointment with Ackbar's 'throwaway death' in Episode 8) Unrelated Star Wars Complaint: Frank Oz (Admonished Disney publicly for their handling of The Muppets to which he stated they don't understand the characters at all, calling their Muppets 'Superficial' and 'Dishonest'). Because my last posting kind of bummed me out listing all the disappointment of talented people...here's my favorite one and it's actually a little funny. The anecdote involves Terence Stamp, who played Chancellor Valorum in Episode 1: Stamp agreed to shoot his scenes for very little money, on the understanding that Lucas gave his performers a "special gift" after filming was over. Stamp particularly hated the political lines, the CGI, and the lack of direction from Lucas. However he stuck it out, only to find out that his present from Lucas after filming completed was a child's Phantom Menace stencil set...

”Who else?”
John Boyega (Wasn’t happy with the way his character was written in TLJ)
JJ Abrams (Rumor alleges that some of his creative choices were for TROS were denied/changed. Those include scenes that actually included Force ghosts instead of their voices; being forced to go with his “plan B” apex villain (Palpatine) rather than his “plan A” apex villain (a new character called Son of Mortis))
If the above rumor is true then I can’t imagine Matt Smith (the actor who allegedly played Son of Mortis but was allegedly cut from the movie) is happy either.

Peter Serafinowicz (said voicing Darth Maul in Episode 1 was one of the worst paying jobs he's ever done)

I like the characters in Rogue One more each time I watch it. One of the best films in the franchise.... I do too. Jyn Erso was a very likable/sympathetic leading character, the Droid had personality, and Ben Mendelsohn pulled in a memorable performance. There's a few nitpicky things about the movie, but I can overlook them because it's a fun ride. Rogue One is the only good Star Wars movie Disney has made, in my opinion. Unfortunately, it was a fluke.

Unrelated Star Wars Complaint:
Frank Oz (Admonished Disney publicly for their handling of The Muppets to which he stated they don't understand the characters at all, calling their Muppets 'Superficial' and 'Dishonest').
*wow

Still a badass character in a great movie, regardless of if it turned out to his satisfaction.

Hmmmm interesting. Liam Neeson says he's done being involved in Star Wars movies: uproxx.com/movies/liam-neeson-done-star-wars-batman-marvel-movies/Part of me wonders if he's just trying to appear apathetic to the franchise as he knows they're working on that Obi-Wan series, and maybe he wants to use it as a bargaining chip on his side when it comes to contract negotiations (should they need him...which is likely). ...another part of me wonders what 'little fuzzy furry creatures' from Episode 1 he's talking about...? I don't remember any little furry creatures in Episode 1! The guy must have watched Episode 6 instead or something.

But they just could not do CG-fur convincingly back in the 90s. Neeson is playing hard to get as bargaining chip, or to deflect if he already has a voice over deal like in Clone Wars.

I have a love/ hate relationship with Star Wars. The setting, music and some of the lore is fantastic. But every other element ranges from average to woeful. That’s the way in every single SW films. Yes Chirrut could have been much better but that’s Star Wars for you. You gotta take the good with the bad.
