Best: We have to mention U2 and Prince here. I also enjoyed Madonna, so sue me.
Worst: Black Eyed Peas were terrible, absolutely terrible, but Maroon 5 last year definitely gave them a run for their money.

The best (in no particular order)
U2 Prince Paul McCartney Bruce Springsteen Beyonce Tom Petty
The Worst
The Black Eyed Peas Maroon 5
The Black Eyed Peas have to be the worst ever, an awful band putting on an awful show. Maroon 5 was weak and very dull but not nearly as awful as the Black Eyed Peas.

Only including the modern ones here. Super Bowl XXV in 1991 is the first one with what we’d call a modern halftime show, featuring New Kids on the Block. So among the best, Prince is clearly number 1, and others that were good that I halfway remember are Michael Jackson, U2, the Janet Jackson nipple show, the Stones, Springsteen, Bruno Mars. Lady Gaga wasn’t too bad either. Most of the others I either didn’t care for or don’t remember. Maroon 5 and Katy Perry sucked.

Is there anybody else on this board who's a football fan but does not watch the halftime show - no matter who is performing?

Is there anybody else on this board who's a football fan but does not watch the halftime show - no matter who is performing? I've missed a few. Generally I'm watching with friends and everybody sticks around for it, but I know I missed Aerosmith/NSync/Brtiney Spears/Nelly one that happened for some reason, the Janet Jackson nipple show, and others. I generally dont care about them, but invariably people in the room wanna watch and talk over it so I abide.

I don't recall watching one - but as you know I'm a proponent to having a Conor McGregor/Canelo Alvarez fight

U2 was great, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry were fun. Probably my three favorite Super Bowl wins, so that helps. I don't usually pay much attention, to be honest. I already can't remember who last year's halftime show was.

Think of the giant ratings bonanza - we'd do this in a Octagon - 3 5 minute rounds. You roll out a ring to the 50 yard line. Mexico - ratings bonanza and all throughout the mexican, spanish, latino community Ireland - ratings bonanza overseas and the millions of Irish tuning in across the globe It's all over in 15 minutes or less - so it's definitely doable. If people think Canelo/Mayweather wouldn't be a draw for Conor - we can brainstorm to think of somebody else. Suggestions are welcome

How long does it last? And how long does the half-time intermission last in a regular season game? I suppose it must be much longer in the SuperBowl, in order to accommodate the half-time show, but isn't that detrimental to the game?

i think it's absolutely detrimental to the flow of the game and could be a huge momentum changer for a team that needs to completely come out of the tunnel like a new team. see Falcons 28 Pats 3 you're a tennis fan - imagine being up 2 sets to love and then you get a long rain delay gives the other player unneeded extra time to regroup

Best: Prince rocking in the rain
Worst: Wasn't Katy Perry riding an elephant at one point?
Underrated: Bruno Mars
Overhyped: Bruce Springsteen sliding his crotch into our living rooms.

Prince's Super Bowl halftime performance isn't just the greatest Super Bowl halftime performance, it's one of the greatest live performances ever. I get instant goosebumps watching it.

Wait till we got commercial breaks in our football games. I mean, this bald guy is even worse then Blatter...and I've never thought this was possible. Do not underestimate the greed of FIFA, UEFA and Co.
