How well is he known among NFL fans (other than Kansas City fans, of course)? Do you know who he is, are you just vaguely familiar with his name, or have you never heard of him?
The reason I ask is because he's all over the news here, being (I think) the first player from Québec to play in the Super Bowl, and a medical doctor on top of that - apparently the first NFL player with a medical degree in the history of the league. But I am not sure of his standing strictly as a player. Bench warmer, average, above average, star?

Made news as a point of interest when he got his doctorate. Other than that, hardly a star name.

He's been a starter for a few years at least. I'd say that he's a little above average.

Following his graduation, he submitted a formal request to the NFL to add the title "M.D." on the back of his jersey. The league denied his request, prompting fans and writers to criticize the league's decision.

The league denied his request, prompting fans and writers to criticize the league's decision. Hmmm, not sure how I feel about either of these things - his request AND the denial. I dislike doctors who insist on being called "doctor" even outside their professional capacity, but on the other hand I don't see a strong reason to deny his request either. They were interviewing his sister on the radio yesterday - she's with Canada's rowing team, preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.
