I use plain old regular YouTube, same as you. However, I pay attention to YouTube's suggestions that appear to the right of the video. So one album listen may result in five or more new album suggestions. I use the right-click Bookmark This Link... command and save any new suggestions in a "review later" folder. You keep at that a while, and you'll soon be inundated with albums/songs to evaluate. My "review later" folder currently has over 600 album/songs in it. Cool. Any rock from the last decade I should check out? Yes. The new album I purchased, which will soon appear in my 2019 albums thread, is " If Icarus Could Fly" by HAUNT. The sticker on the front of the CD reads: HAUNT is a very talented and prolific band. They currently have released three full length albums, including a 2020 release which is still in my "review later" folder! I now own their first two.

When people stopped dancing to it. Or understanding how to dance to it. People danced to swing, danced to country and danced to rock. They moved on to disco, new wave, etc. People say they can dance but put a rock song on and they suddenly get 2 left feet. They're 'deaf' to the beat of rock and say you can't dance to it.
The rise of country in the 90s and EDM in the 2000s has also taken away what would have been part of the audience.
Don't forget Blues as an influence on rock. How popular is blues now compared to the 60s? Heck, how popular is folk now compared to the 60s?
Also, the snobbishness of rockers divides the genre further. Metalheads are too cool to listen to other rock. They've replaced the progheads of the 70s. Green Day, etc. aren't rock enough (let alone punk enough).
Finally, society outside of music is no longer rock and roll, i.e. raw and gritty. Everyone wants stuff that's new, clean, fresh, expensive and the latest style. Tattoos are no longer a sign of rebelliousness.

Rock music is still popular. Aerosmith and AC/DC videos have millions of views on Youtube. it's just no longer the dominant genre. No genre stays dominant forever.
