I am incredibly happy for the acknowledgement and celebration of Parasite & Hair Love received at the Oscars tonight. However, I’m still unsatisfied with the lack of diversity in the acting categories. WHY WHY WHY are these movies and nominations still like this. DO BETTER.
The fact that @wesleystudi didn’t get a chance to accept his honorary #oscar in public is frankly just sad. It’s the academy doing the least they can to honor a phenomenal Indigenous actor. It’s not enough. Do better. #GWY #CherokeeNation
In incredibly poor taste, the Oscars In Memoriam segment was followed by a @verizon commercial saying that it was love, expressed through their network, that saved a woman's dad from dying from cancer. How offensive to those of us who have lost those we love to cancer. Do better.
They really weren’t trying to let Parasite team finish their award acceptance speech—
#Oscars do better
Wow first film not in English to win Best Picture! Do better #Oscars
the oscars not including scott wilson in the in memoriam segment last year, and now not including luke perry? come on, do better. #oscars
It's so amazing they finally allowed women on the stage at the Oscars this year.
Do better.
#Oscars2020
im so FUCKING PROUD that Parasite won Oscar major awards....but it won't change the fact that there are incredible films made by WOMEN get snubbed. Oscars, please do BETTER.
the general public over reacting to parasite winning 4 oscars, idk how but it’s peak xenophobia. i don’t know how y’all want us to respect you, when you can’t even respect others yourselves. do better.
The @theacademy absolutely sucks at their “Memoriam” segment every year. They always leave out exceptionally notable people& their excuse is “there’s too many to include.” BS! Do better! #Oscars

Oh God, I can't stand the whining about "not enough women" or "not enough minorities" anymore!

They are not over reacting at all because it's obvious most people here in the USA (and I would assume UK to(basically English speaking countries)) would prefer something else on that Best Picture list to win is why. this is a no-brainer. there is simply no way most people here in the USA (and other English language countries) would prefer Parasite over say Joker/The Irishman/Once Upon a Time in Hollywood etc. another reason... Parasite will be pretty much forgotten by the general public unlike some of the other nominee's in 10-20-30 years time. so it's not surprising many people don't watch those awards shows much anymore as politics takes priority over movie quality and the like. but the OP does what's typical for someone on the left, claim it's racist etc etc to oppose anything with minorities in it regardless of whether you make it a legitimate point or not. but the simple truth is... certain movies(generally English language ones)/people(more famous Hollywood types) connect more with the common person here in the USA (and the like countries) then non-English language stuff does. it's just the way it is. p.s. but personally... I would have liked to see Ford v Ferrari win as it's my #1 movie of 2019 straight up and within my Top 77 movies in general. basically my top movies of 2019 straight up are... 1)Ford v Ferrari (7.5-8/10) 2)El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (7.5-8/10) 3)The Irishman(7/10). so while the Oscars got the winner wrong again, as usual, at least the nominee's were a improvement over the crap from 2017/2018 which are pretty much forgettable. hell, like I have said before, the last time the Oscars got a Best Picture Winner correct, and was a stand out movie in general, was The Departed (2006). Jep GambardellaYeah, but it's a joke as they basically further ruined the awards shows because of them pretty much forcing the academy to give awards to weaker movies etc solely because someones minority status etc more than just winning straight up.

Oh God, I can't stand the whining about "not enough women" or "not enough minorities" anymore! You're not the only one, and I'm speaking as a minority.

I would love to see someone like you represented though. I don't care about your talent. Your race and gender is all that matters to me. That's what I see you as.
