Good tracking down on both -- 66 seated there and between us I think we identified about 95% of them.
Don't see Myrna -- I wonder if she was elsewhere on a war bond drive around then.

It may have been a bit before Angela's arrival at Metro -- this was 1943 and GASLIGHT was the following year.

Between '41 and '44, she was on hiatus, engaged in that, working with the Red Cross and other public service activities.

Oh -- then that explains where she was ... hanging around with Chuck Boyer and Ingrid (both of whom also didn't make the photo shoot).

Very small-minded of both not to look the other way, especially David after all that Louie B. did for him (lending Gable for GWTW).
Hey -- that reminds me ... Clark not in the pic. Still on duty in England? Jimmy got into it.

mattgarth - Found a source that identifies my Angela Lansbury as Jean Rogers, and upon further scrutiny, I buy it. It fills in the "?s" and also says our John Hodiak is Richard Whorf. Hmmm. Guess I can go along. It also claims top row, far right to be Rags Ragland. I still can't quite see it. If you're ready, here's their rundown: kottke.org/12/05/photo-of-mgms-stable-of-movie-stars-in-1943

I knew Rags was in there somewhere.
Whorf instead of Hodiak? OK -- he was making KEEPER OF THE FLAME right around then with Spence and Kate.
Still -- we did pretty well there, partner.

Still on duty in England? Jimmy got into it. DOS would probably have insisted Ingrid be holding a sign saying, "Courtesy Of David O Selznick." Gable didn't return to the cameras until '45. They must have been lucky enough to catch Stewart in town on leave.

Didn't recognize Irene Dunne at all. She stopped by Metro to make GUY NAMED JOE with Tracy (he's sitting behind her and still wearing the leather jacket from the film). Then she hung around to do WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER.

First row, left to right: James Stewart / Margaret Sullavan / Lucille Ball / Hedy Lamarr / Katharine Hepburn / Louis B. Mayer / Greer Garson / 'X' / 'X' / Ann Miller (?) / Lionel Barrymore Next row in the next text I can't compete with your eyes. But I know a Gorn when i see one.

Notice who else is missing? Garland.
Some other absentees: Crawford (she must already have been out the door); Robert Young; Frank Morgan; Margaret O'Brien; Lana Turner; Gloria DeHaven; Ann Rutherford.

Definitely an incomplete seating (no Van Heflin?)

Heflin enlisted after Presenting Lily Mars wrapped, and was with the Army Air Corps. But I'm sure there are others unaccounted for.

I think that's Irene Dunne next to Greer Garson, and am positive it's Ginny Simms next to Lionel Barrymore. Just can't ID the lady in red between them.
Agreed, doghouse, with this caveat: unless my (not very good eyes) deceive me, the lady in red is the missing Judy Garland, slim and trim at the age of 21.
According to the rundown at the site I linked for Matt, that's Susan Peters between Dunne and Simms. Garland hadn't yet gone brunette, and that would have been a good spot for her, rounding out the redheads of the row.

mattgarth and Doghouse6 … GREAT job on labeling ! mercy buckets ! I've seen these pictures but never realized that the folks were arranged by $$$$ . Two more guys in uniform there in the back row. Hepburn is the only lady wearing slacks. Tracy and Hepburn both look like they want to be somewhere else while Van Johnson looks downright giddy ! .

They did another similar one in '49 for the studio's 25th anniversary, and put them in alphabetical order. Very helpful with IDs, but still some I can't get. Row 1: Lionel Barrymore, June Allyson, Leon Ames, Fred Astaire, Edward Arnold, Mary Astor, Ethel Barrymore (don't know why Lionel's at the opposite end), Spring Byington, James Craig, Arlene Dahl Row 2: Gloria DeHaven, Tom Drake, Jimmy Durante, Vera-Ellen, Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Ava Gardner, Judy Garland, Betty Garrett, Edmund Gwenn, , Van Heflin Row 3: Katharine Hepburn, John Hodiak, Claude Jarman Jr, Van Johnson, Jennifer Jones, Louis Jourdan, Howard Keel, Gene Kelly, , Angela Lansbury, Mario Lanza, Janet Leigh Row 4: Peter Lawford, Ann Miller, Ricardo Montalban, Jules Munchin, George Murphy, Reginald Owen, Walter Pidgeon, Jane Powell, Ginger Rogers, Frank Sinatra, Red Skelton Row 5: Alexis Smith, Ann Sothern, (looks like J. Carrol Naish, but if it is, he's out of order), Dean Stockwell, Lewis Stone, , Robert Taylor, Audrey Totter, Spencer Tracy, Esther Williams, Keenan Wynn

I see Lassie actually made it into THIS picture , Doghouse6 But I can not get it enlarged enough to see most of them clearly so the name tags really help !
Other group photos Somewhere there's a picture of BIG STARS at a meal of some sort … MGMs ? and one of the Academy Award shows had a massive quantity of Olde Timers on stage … in rows.
