I see Lassie actually made it into THIS picture , #doghouse6 But I can not get it enlarged enough to see most of them clearly so the name tags really help !
Somewhere there's a picture of BIG STARS at a meal of some sort … MGMs ? Yeah, that was a luncheon the same year for the 25th anniversary. Film of that one too.

Doghouse6 YEP that's the occasion ! This is a more expanded version of the one I had seen before. Your check will be in the mail on Tuesday ! Some of the actors arrived in costume .. some doing their schtick during the entry .. some just walking quickly past … sooooo cool ! And look .. they EAT .. just like REAL folks ! Angela was really digging in !

Angela was really digging in ! And Errol Flynn's name either didn't get on the intro list or George Murphy missed it. The poor guy kept trying to figure out when it was safe to make his entrance. I wonder if he was thinking, "I left Warner for this?"

Doghouse6I watched Flynn ,.. he seemed to be helping the ladies get past that staircase ... then whooshed in without intro just after Greer but was seated alpha-bo-litically at the table. Did not recognize Geo M. … practicing public speaking for his future career maybe. ALL that cigarette smoke :cough:: ::cough:: Funny watching them change when they knew they were on camera … Buster especially. Gable stops chewing I am surprised that I recognized so many of them ! not all.... but many !

Another MIA from the '43 photo -- the Wiz, Frank Morgan. I reported Morgan missing yesterday, but ya know who else I've just missed? Lana Turner. And Elizabeth Taylor. Ava Gardner was at MGM then, but perhaps still considered a nobody contract player.
