It's being reported that the Collective Bargaining Agreement will have an increase of 7 teams in the playoffs per league. If that would have happened, the Steelers would have gone to the Chiefs and the Rams to the Packers for Wild Card Weekend (with only the Ravens and Niners getting byes). Whose idea was this, Belichick's? He knows his team will suck without Brady, but if he expands the playoffs he can still say he made it without him?

Stefon Diggs apparently back on the market. Curious as to what type of Draft Compensation the Vikings would get back for him. I'd give up a 3rd Rounder - tops even though they'll be looking for me undoubtedly. Otherwise fill the hole in Free Agency since we can't draft WRs for sh*t. Need secondary help first and foremost. Diggs just turned 26 ten days ago. He's a surprisingly young player still. That speed would seem to be what they were hoping to get in DJax last year.

Reports are out there that the Colts will sign Philip Rivers, reuniting him with Frank Reich. A stopgap to be sure, but Rivers hasn't played with a decent offensive line in forever. He'd get that with Indy.

Get them Taysom Hill, Rivers, Stafford, Carr, or Brady, and send a second rounder to Minnesota for Diggs.

If so, and I do not disagree with you in general, why leaving a lot of money on the table? Baseball has too many, football too less games imho. But seven is so odd... let every second placed team join the play offs (no stupid tie breakers which are in nine out of ten arbitrarily if not outright unfair).

For instance: Team A had the Jets at the beginning of the season, when they were a laughing stock, Team B at the end, when their record was one of a play off team. You call it bad luck, I call it unfair.

You call it bad luck, I call it unfair. There is literally nothing unfair about the situation you described.

Rivers to the Colts make sense for both teams - Rivers still has some left in the tank IMO and the Colts need a better QB, Brissett isn’t capable of being a franchise QB IMO. I’m interested to see if he goes there and how it plays out.

Eagles have their eyes on Amari Cooper
Hope this works out better than DeMarco Murray whom we supposedly stole from the Cowboys

Apparently the Packers are in the mix for Austin Hooper. Cutting Graham and giving that money to Hooper sounds like a good thing to me however I'm iffy on the Packers looking to solve that position again via free agency instead of rolling with Sternberger. However two tight ends aren't a bad thing. Xeliou66 can you tell me more about Hooper as a player? Can he block? Does he have trouble with drops? The stat line doesn't exactly tell me everything. I always get nervous giving a guy a big contract when the only year they were highly productive was the year before free agency.

Hooper is a very good TE - he’s been very productive the last 2 seasons, very consistent player, good receiver and decent blocker. I’ll hate to lose him as a Falcons fan.

Per BetOnline - Eagles are favorites to win NFC East 3rd favorites in NFC to reach Super behind the 49ers and Saints. I really don't pay attention to odds prior to free agency, the draft, and the final 53 man roster is announced - But . . I'll take it

Jaguars traded AJ Bouye to the Broncos for a 4th round pick. Good deal for Denver - - replacement for Chris Harris if they let him go. Meanwhile the Jags got out from under a burdensome contract, and they were pretty close to cap hell (not Rams' cap hell, but close).

Eagles rumored to be shopping LT who played some RT Andre Dillard
This is extremely disappointing news.
Dillard was supposed to replace Hall of Famer Jason Peters - rumors swirling Peters may be back which I did not want to here - he's injury prone and good for 1 crucial holding call, offsides/false start a game

They'd have to be trading him for a receiver or cornerback who is probably similarly flawed - - and then you need to draft (or pick up in free agency) another tackle anyway.
