Steelers should have signed Winston. Smart move by the Saints. I disagree, the Steelers should stick with Big Ben for another year and then draft their franchise QB of the future. Jameis is a bust IMO, 5 years with the Bucs with 0 playoff appearances and a boatload of turnovers, plus he has a lot of personal baggage and character issues. I don’t think he has what it takes to be a franchise QB. I have no idea what the Saints plan to do with him though, they already have Hill as a backup to Brees, and Jameis isn’t good enough to shine Brees’ shoes.

Smart move by the Saints. i have to be honest, i really don't get it i assumed they would split playing time between Brees and Hill why pay Ol Crab Legs just to ride the pine? For $1.1 million, I'd do it. Even with the salaries, I'd still assume that they'd go to Winston over Hill if/when Brees got hurt.

With as good as the Steelers' defense is, I don't think they can do much worse than 7-9 this year even with another Roethlisberger injury. They are sort of stuck in the Jordan Love-range of quarterback getting. There's no risk in paying Winston $1.1 million - - you could do that and get a mid/late first round QB and let competition decide who should start.

Hill hasn't proved himself as a starting quarterback. The Saints still want to use him as the swiss army knife. If Payton and Brees can get Winston to stop throwing interceptions, he might be good as a backup. If not, they still have Hill and their last draft pick.

When it comes to Jameis, looking only at the turnovers is a little short-sighted, in my view. You can’t just ignore 5k and 30 TDs. Yes, he had great receivers, but clearly Winston has the talent to do something in this league. I can’t think of many better offensive staffs for him than the Saints. I can see Drew Brees taking him under his wing a lot more clearly than I can see Roethlisberger doing the same. The Steelers look in trouble to me. Ben hardly looks like he’s been following the TB12 diet, if you know what I mean. Yet they have the defense to keep them well away from the top draft picks. And “drafting a franchise QB” is easier said than done.

Can't wait for all the braindead Eagles fans pissing and moaning on the radio today - 'We could have had Andy Dalton or Joe Flacco as a backup instead of Jalen Hurts!'

Not saying that Hurts was a great pick at 2 but I’d want no part of Flacco or Dalton. They’re not too far removed from having McCown as your backup.

I get the line of thinking we could have nabbed a position of need in the 2nd Round.
What some people keep forgetting - old saying - the best ability is 'Availability'. Now I love Wentz and it's team - but lets be honest - he was knocked out the Super Bowl year, the year after when we lost to the Saints and this year vs. The Seahawks.
Hurts was an elite college QB - now does that translate to an NFL QB - absolutely not - but you listen to some of these people piss and moan about the pick and you'd think we took somebody from Delaware County Community College at QB with the pick. This guy was in Heisman discussion and played for 2 elite programs.
If Wentz does keep going down - this is a guy you can hopefully develop and grow.
You're also saving a lot of money - i.e. he's on a rookie contract - and you can spend that money on an area of need - you're not paying a Chase Daniels major coin to hold a clipboard - then eventually when you're QB goes down - expecting the Chase Daniels of the world to save you - this kid has a pedigree.

You'd think Eagles fans of all people would appreciate the value of a decent backup QB.

What is this crableg stuff? Did he do a commercial for seafood? "Winston, just months after winning the Heisman Trophy, was given a citation for stealing $32.72 worth of crab legs and crawfish from a Tallahassee Publix grocery store on April 29th, 2014, adding to a list of issues Winston had while attending Florida State University."

Feels like it's 2009 again. Suddenly I'm seeing Brett Favre's name in the media constantly, and he has a lot to say about the Aaron Rodgers/Jordan Love situation in GB. He's adamant that Rodgers is disrespected and that he's unlikely to finish his career as a Packer. Would it be fair to say that LaFleur took the two beatings SF gave him last season a little personally, and he now wants to build the team in the 49ers' image? That is to say, based on the ground game. He may have the idea that you don't need a star QB to win, you need a dominant rushing attack, and if it can involve the QB, even better. Rodgers in his late 30s, nay, Love early 20s, yay. Rodgers thinks he just goes to the line and decides what play they'll run. Maybe LaFleur and Gutekunst want to start building their own system with a more pliable young QB. Just a thought.

I saw this stat somewhere the other day that in games decided by 7 points or less Aaron Rodgers is .500 - I believe the numbers were 34-34-1. Now I know he has this reputation for being captain clutch, that he’ll always lead the Packers to victory. But the stats say otherwise. Sure he’s a good QB, but he’s not Peyton or Brady. I know there’s 52 other guys on the team so don’t tell me defense no WRs blah blah blah. To me there’s the elite of the elite, and Rodgers is in that second tier.

Look at Rodgers record in away games. This article is from early last season, though the numbers couldn't have changed dramatically considering the Packers schedule. Rodgers isn't terrible, but I wouldn't call him 'great.' Can't believe there are people who put him in the GOAT conversation. His 'legendary' reputation comes mostly from Hail Marys that are 100% luck. Great QBs put their team in a position to win. This guy loses big games more often than not, and some of his biggest wins are him hucking the ball 60 yards because he couldn't get any closer.

I think Rodgers will leave GB after this season, it’s clear to me that the Packers want to move on from him and go in a different direction. Rodgers has the right to be pissed, the Packers should’ve given him more weapons, instead they spent their first pick on his replacement. It just makes no sense to me, the Packers have a talented team and the best way for them to try to win now is by drafting receivers. I think this means the end of Rodgers in GB after this season.
