So I just saw Hobbs and Shaw for the first time a few days ago and got the series on Blu Ray. I must say the The Fast and the Furious series really has grown on me and I really love the films with the exception of part 3 which I do not enjoy. Cant wait to see part 9. How do you rank and or rate the series?
1. Furious Seven - 10/10 2. The Fast and the Furious - 10/10 3. Fast and Furious 6 - 9/10 4. The Fate of the Furious - 9/10 5. 2 Fast 2 Furious - 9/10 6. Fast & Furious - 9/10 7. Fast Five - 7/10 8. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw - 7/10 9. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - 3/10

I am a fan of the series but only the first movie is among my favorite movies in general with the 4th/6th/7th movies being a bit shy of favorite movie status for me...
1.The Fast and the Furious (2001) - 7/10 2.Furious Seven (2015) - 6-6.5/10 3.Fast & Furious (2009) 4.Fast & Furious 6 (2013) 5.2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) - 6/10 6.Fast Five (2011) 7.The Fate of the Furious (2017) 8.The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) - 5.5-6/10
NOTE: I did not rank 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)' (6/10). but if I did, based on my initial viewing of it so far, it's about 6th place above Fast Five (2011) or so.
I don't blame you on the 3rd one as it's the weak link of the series. although I barely still like it.
as for Part 9... I am not a fan of John Cena (he simply does not have the charisma that The Rock has (and Cena comes across as a bit arrogant in what little I have seen of him on Dancing with the Stars (he was not a contestant) briefly a while ago now)). so I hope he does not dull the movie down. but I suspect the rest of the cast and movie itself will help me overlook his presence there. my guess... it will probably finish somewhere below 2 Fast 2 Furious.

From the ones I've seen:
1. The Fast and the Furious
2. Furious Seven (Such a perfect ending, I won't watch any new films after) 3. Fast Five (Breathed new life into the franchise, it was dead) 4. Fast and Furious 6 (Fun action/adventure film) 5. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (At least they tried something different. It's very entertaining)
6. Fast & Furious (Tried to reclaim the glory of the original, forgettable and nothing new or groundbreaking) 7. 2 Fast 2 Furious (Attempt to make the series a buddy cop film, so much different than the rest, but not in a good way)
Haven't Seen: The Fate of the Furious Haven't Seen: Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw
P.S.
I love this series because the first movie was also the first film my eventual wife and I saw together on our first movie date.
However, once Paul Walker died... They handled that so perfectly I didn't want to see anymore after his death.

Not a fan. I like Furious 7 because of how awesomely self aware it is. Okay, Okay, Hobbs and Shaw and The Fate of the Furious do it too, but they lack the character interaction that makes the earlier movies more fun. The bromance between Dom and Brian has always been the best aspect of these films. Charlize Theron may be the best villain of the whole franchise, but unfortunately she is stuck in one of the least fun of the franchise.
1. Furious 7 - 7/10 2. The Fast and the Furious - 6.5/10 3. The Fast and the Furious 6 - 6.5/10 4. Fast Five - 5.5/10 5. 2 Fast 2 Furious - 5/10 6. Tokyo Drift - 5/10 7. The Fate of the Furious - 5/10 8. Fast & Furious 4 - 4.5/10 9. Hobbs & Shaw - 3.5/10

Fate of the Furious is great fun but I get what you mean. They tried to replace him sort of with a new guy played by Scott Eastwood but he seriously lacks the likability and charisma Walker had.

I really liked the series onward since Fast Five which is my favorite one. I had only seen pieces of Tokyo Drift but didn't like what I saw. The others I'd rank as such:
Fast Five - 8/10
Hobbs and Shaw - 8/10
Furious 7 - 7.5/10
Fast & Furious Six - 7/10
Fate of the Furious 6.5/10
2 Fast & 2 Furious 6/10
The Fast and the Furious 5/10
Fast & Furious - 4/10

I've only ever fully watched 1, 2, & 7.
Pardon the pun, but they're just not my lane. I think I need childhood nostalgia for stuff like this, Transformers, etc.

Seems hard to rate these movies since even the good ones aren't really "good". So I'll just separate them by fun and boring.
Fun:
Fast Five Furious 7 6 F8
Middling:
Fast and Furious
Zzzz:
Hobbs and Shaw Tokyo Drift The Fast and the Furious 2 Fast 2 Furious

I haven't seen Hobbs and Shaw but I've enjoyed the rest. I actually like Tokyo Drift better than the 2nd one, the drifting scene was pretty huge when that film came out (even Dodge competed with a Viper on the drifting circuit). Han was a pretty interesting character even if the main lead was a little weak. The series is one of my favorites out of the past 2 decades. It's got a good mix of action and comedy and they seem "self aware" since the 4th or 5th one.

Have only seen...
FAST FIVE FAST & FURIOUS 6 FURIOUS 7 THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS
...and every single one of them is loud, empty, brain-dead garbage.
Not gonna bother with any more of them.

I know that it looks that way in the Trailer but I suspect that by the end of the Movie, The Real Main Villain in it will actually be Charlize Theron once again and not John Cena.

They seem to get better with the increase of Rock/Stath screen time...or rather more watchable. I really couldn't care less about Diesel and his gang, not that I cared that much in the first place.
At one point it seemed the series was just an excuse to have cars crashing, close ups of gyrating butts and shit music. I fully expected a later sequel to feature just cars crashing into huge butts to a soundtrack of shit music and VD sporadically grumbling the word "family"

A franchise that I'm surprised has lasted so long with so many installments.
