I was sitting there watching TV, Wendy came and sat on my knee. She put her finger in my ear, But I pulled it out so I could hear. The newsman on the television said, He said the king of pop was dead. And in the spooky television light, She said "Don't ever forget this night." I made love to Wendy under the stars, the night that Michael died She was thirty-one, I was seventeen, I found out then what passion could mean. I thought I loved her, but I didn't know how, I don't love her when I see her now With speaker turned up loud, She made a young man feel strong and proud. And in the coolness of the morning light She said "Don't ever forget this night." I made love Wendy under the stars, the night that Michael died. was talking to my mom afterschoool when they announced a massive heart attackj.

What's with the jokes about a woman named Wendy?!?! I thought this tread was supposed to be about where we were when we learned that MJ died?!?! they are not jokes we are just sharing our stories of what we were doing the night Michael Jackson died. Then what the heck is all this about someone named Wendy?

I was grieving over Farrah and was watching 1st season CA reruns, I think I must gotten up to the 5th or 6th episode ("Target: Angels" or "The Killing Kind") when I heard about Michael Jackson. I was kind of shocked when I heard about MJ - King of Pop and everything, but my heart belongs to Farrah. I was definitely in the Farrah camp that day. It is like Farrah could never break out of her mediocrity persona, as much and as hard as she tried. Even her death ended up getting undermined by a massive and controversial star\icon and it then became something of the likes of Farrah who? I hate to say it, but part of it was her own fault, or her own poor judging/reasoning skills. She was just not all that good at drama. CA's heavenly fluff was her forte, and I don't say that smugly or lightly. CA was more than entertaining when she was part of the magic, so what's wrong with being a part of that. But I guess Farrah believed what people were saying and she took it upon herself (goaded by a jealous husband) to prove that she could be serious. What is this need to prove yourself in an area where you are barely adequate, when you have this other thing that you do very, very well and people love you for it? In this case, maybe Farrah was her own worst enemy. Well, besides the jerk she ended up with. You've said this a couple times, Toasted Cheese, about how Jaclyn Smith was more self-aware and knew her limitations as an actress and stayed with the show the entire run. She was more savvy than Farrah and she saw a great opportunity with the K-Mart clothing line, and she is by far the most financially well off of all the Angels. It is sooooo important to know yourself, to know your good points and your strengths and to know your weaknesses, etc. I imagine Jaclyn will live to be 100. I bet she has been drunk less than ten times in her life. And I bet she never even tried a cigarette. I think Farrah and Michael were friends in the late 70s/early 80s, when Studio 54 was still a big deal. I know I am in a large minority here, but I hardly ever give MJ a sustained thought, whereas I might think about Farrah's lovely, ethereal presence on a more regular basis. I do remember that Farrah's death was eclipsed by "The Gloved One" (oh, now that image does carry some disturbing thoughts with it) , and I also remember a fellow Farrah fan posted something like "Well, we can mourn Farrah's passing in our own quiet way." and I just loved that he said that.

Don't remember where I was when I heard he died and didn't care when I did. I enjoyed some of his songs but felt overall that he was way over-rated, and he was no king of anything. He gave himself that title. A true king is titled by the people.

I know I didn’t mourn for either, but had heard Farrah was battling cancer and that Jacko was such a strange one, that his strange manner of death wasn’t that much of a shock. He was always surrounded by controversy. I was more interested in the trial for the doctor that was convicted of his manslaughter. People just love drama in their lives and it is like being serious means one will be taken seriously. Actors are apt to seek this out and prove it. Farrah more than anything wanted to be taken seriously and to prove this. All she was doing was becoming a prisoner of her own ego. What is wrong with being being light and funny? She could have honed her comedic and timing skills, if she had embraced and acknowledged her capabilities. She wanted to be a mega star and that was her first mistake. Already a foot in the door with connections. Within her own realm, she just ended up like one of those naive, small town young hopefuls who come to Tinseltown with stars in their eyes and end up waiting on tables. Nothing and exactly! Farrah had a gift for lightweight comedy and as far as I am concerned, her characterization of Jill Munroe was pure delight. Oh, the word "effervescent" was made for people like the natural Farrah Fawcett-Majors. She had a hit show, her swimsuit poster was the best-selling of all time, she got along well with her co-workers and she had a husband who loved her and who was fundamentally decent man. Why did she have to tamper with that? If she hadn't broken her contract with CA producers, she would likely have gotten lead roles in both "Foul Play" (a big hit) and "Coma" (a modest success), but certainly both were better and financially more successful films than "Somebody Killed Husband" and "Saturn 3" (though I have never seen either of those movies, so I can't say for sure.) Oh, Farrah, you believed your own publicity and it turned around and bit you right on the butt! Like Leonard Maltin said of her performance in "Extremities", Fawcett's adequate, but one-note performance is another liability. Farrah could use her voice to cut somebody dead off and she could do a decent interpretation of anger, but so what? Who cares? There just was not much there. You were so much more adept and enjoyable at lightweight material, Farrah. Marilyn Monroe was delightful and very, very funny in films like "The Seven Year Itch" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "How to Marry a Millionaire", but when she went all heavy and tried on Arthur Miller and "The Misfits", she couldn't find her way through that material and there was very little of the MM magic.

It was the latest afternoon can get without being sunset, and I was driving along the freeway with other people who were coming home from work. I stopped at a red light and patiently waited for them to change. Just then, a very attractive woman in a little red Corvette alongside me drew my attention to her. "Hi, I'm Wendy!" she called. I said hello back. She said "I know something you don't!". "What's that?" I replied. "Michael Jackson is gonna die tonight," she responded. "Wow, ZOMG, that'll be a massive shock to the whole world. There'll be chaos!" I said. "Yeah i know," she said, before putting her hands down out of my sight, and when she brought them back up she was holding a G-String. "Wanna get in early?" she asked, grinning. We jumped out of our cars, and had sex in the bushes nearby. When we returned, it was sunset and there was a massive traffic jam caused by our abandoned cars. "I must go now, I have to take care of a "harmless elf" tonight", she said, and with that she was away and gone. Many years later, I found out that the ambulance that would've saved Michael Jackson was held up by the traffic jam Wendy and I caused.
