I have Goodman as my personal winner.
For other nominees I have:
Jack Palance for City Slickers (the actual Academy Award winner) Tommy Lee Jones for JFK Harvey Keitel in Thelma and Louise
1991 was a barren year for great acting. Not many choices there.

most of the actors in JFK would have been worthy winners. Goodman is always great. I liked Gregory Peck in Other Peoples Money too.

I think Sam Jackson's so powerful in his role he feels like the lead. He's a rare shoo-in for me but I rarely agree with Academy voters.

Yet Donald Sutherland remains the benchmark for me, among support performances ... the zenith. He's frightfully good.

I think Sam Jackson's so powerful in his role he feels like the lead. He's a rare shoo-in for me but I rarely agree with Academy voters. What's mesmerizing about Jackson is basically the fact that perhaps he rarely ever disappeared and immersed in a role like Gator that often throughout all of his career.

mmy pm is an interesting debate I was apart of once basically. No harm to be done - I'm just an ageing and poor conversationalist in general.

John Goodman, Barton Fink
Ice Cube Boyz N da Hood
Gary Oldman, JFK
Donald Sutherland, JFK
Samuel L. Jackson, Jungle Fever
For some reason they all seems like actors who acts in more or less anything nowdays, with the exception of Oldman, nearly.
