Not until a vaccine is made which will be 2 years from now. Which reminds me, when does Africa get hit by this? Correct me if I'm wrong, cuz there's a large chance I am, yet I've not seen much of the continent in many if any headlines about this. That could escalate like mad.

At least a good couple of months unless something develops quickly to stop or reduce it.

CDC reports that most of Africa is untouched, but the death rate worldwide is rapidly accelerating. I have been keeping an eye on it. My part of the world seems to have it under control but around the world it is about a thousand deaths every two days.

Ive not seen much in the news about Africa or South America for that. Bit strange.

In my area, it can get roasting hot (90F) and extra humid as early as mid-May. The couple times I have gotten sick in the summer were absolutely terrible, and it would not go away all season long. I am panicking 24/7 here. Having super negative thoughts. I am embarrassed to ask someone for help, and it is just annoying to people anyway.

I don't think It'll ever go away. They're testing existing vaccines right now to see what effect it may have. They're also starting to develop a convalescent serum from people who have had the virus and recovered. This method hasn't been used in the US since 1918 I believe. It had success back then so it's worth a shot.

This is not ebola, this is not the end of days.

Not to be nonchalant about all this with all the deaths and everything but this whole thing is extremely eye opening and fortunate in a scary twisted way. It shows how ill prepared the entire world is to deal with something like this. I think we're fortunate that this isn't something like ebola or something worse. This virus will mutate again and again. I thinks it's safe to assume that someday in the future something else will come around that will much worse than this.

I agree, this will be a valuable test for the incident response processes.

"If ever"?!
59 million AMERICANS had swine flu. 12,000 died. This is AMERICANS alone.
You know how many have contracted coronavirus? 182,000 IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. 70 people have died in the US. SEVENTY. 6000+ worlwide. This is nothing but panic and media hype. I am all for common sense prevention. Stopping sports and concerts is a great idea. It's a fact that stopping mass gatherings prevents this stuff from getting worse. But this whole thing is out of hand. Every store but grocery stores closing down? Fucking ridiculous.
