I really hope that Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox will all be returning for it.

I really liked Ready or Not so that's encouraging.

I still haven't seen it but I have heard good things about it.

I was disappointed with Ready or Not, but they showed promise as directors.
I wish they’d do something original again, but oh well.

As a fan of the series in general, I will of course see it. But my expectations are pretty damn low, especially without Wes at the helm.

With Wes Craven gone now, I think that the next best choice after him was really Robert Rodriguez.
He actually directed that scene from "STAB" that we saw in both "SCREAM 2" and "SCREAM 4".
He understands and gets what the "SCREAM" Movies are about and how they are done.
Plus, I think that he and Wes Craven were also friends.

I've mentioned this before, but a Scream reboot needs to go back to the basics of what made the first movie great. It was a simple slasher film with relatable characters that behaved like actual humans, the meta deconstruction aspect of the movie was just the spice that added flavor to the movie. The characters in the later sequels do not behave like actual human beings, but like the characters from movies the original movie makes fun of. I hope they use the latest Halloween movie as a template. They don't necessarily need to throw out all the sequels, but make the focus of the movie the fall out from the events of the original movie (the one people actually care about) 25 years later, let the characters actually behave like adults, Dewey and Gale should not still be doing the Lenny and George from Of Mice & Men routine they've been doing in all the sequels, Dewey was dumb in the original movie because he was young and inexperienced. The Dewey of the sequels progressively became more developmentally disabled. Neve Campbell is actually a good actress who deserved a better career than she got, give her a chance to show it.
