I feel like I took 10 hits of acid and just realized the situation. Seriously I am not going to tell the people at the crisis hotline that, because they will just think I'm some druggie type person. But this is a constant panic. I have been in a constant state of panic for the past week and it keeps getting worse. I don't know what the crisis hotline going to be able to do. I can't expect them to stay on the phone forever with me. Or they might just say "you're overreacting". I live by myself and don't really have anyone except the neighbors I used to chat with when I walked my dog. All I can think is how it is over. This is 100 times as bleak as anything I've ever seen.

I'm assuming the situation is the COVID-19, but what about it exactly is making you most anxious?

LOL. Well the virus kind of. But all of the stores and restaurants and bars in my city closing business. All of the people out of work who I know. The entire small business community in my area is finished. I mean, restaurant cooks might be able to get jobs at companies who disinfect offices, until those offices close. Didn't want too see the meltdown happen already. And I don't want to be part of it. I'll stop posting when my service provider goes under, or I have to sell my laptop for $10 so I can afford soap.

Thanks. I was feeling better yesterday night after talking to my sister. Today has been alright with the anxiety, but still have a feeling of dread. If this every goes back to normal, I promise I will never again get mad and say "can't the word just effing end!" or something I probably have said a million times. And no, I don't think I caused this.

I assume you have anxiety issues, so it's no wonder your anxiety is heightened. Are the restaurants selling take out food only? Where I live, all business has been shut down until further notice, except for essential, services - grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals and restaurants that are only permitted to sell takeout only. It's appropriate to be cautious and worried, but also to excercise prudent judgement. Sorry you are feeling heightened anxiety.

I am in MI. Pretty much restaurants are shut down except for takeout, schools shut down until at least early April. I am like way past the threshold of thinking much good. Most of which I don't even want to post online. But I need to talk to someone. I talked to my sister yesterday and that made me feel a little better, I guess. But the reality of things when it is just me and the news and my laptop, and work from home... is a disaster. I had a brief maybe two or three night chest cold last December and was very close to having a serious breathing problem. Not like a dry throat... Like lungs filling up. I dozed off once, and woke up having gone 10 minutes without clearing my chest - and that scared me so bad because I think I just got lucky and was able to clear them. If people don't understand how this thing kills you - you drown. That always makes the top of the list when "what is the worst way to die" is a posting topic. Sorry, I cannot see anything right any longer.

I'm assuming the situation is the COVID-19, but what about it exactly is making you most anxious? If one is listening to the right music while reading you're always witty responses, your avatar actually dances exactly to the music. Did you do that on purpose?

If one is listening to the right music while reading you're always witty responses, your avatar actually dances exactly to the music. Did you do that on purpose? It syncs up with The Wizard of Oz and The Dark Side of the Moon, and is key to revealing the meaning of life. Not really. It just seemed like an avatar with a lot of happy energy.

It just seemed like an avatar with a lot of happy energy. LOL. It also looks like she's doing the Crip Walk. I guess that is a celebratory dance.

It's a new experience, but I think that the authorities took the best course of action. And, I think that the " essential services," and " altered services," that have been left open to the community ... along with a green-light for private walks/exercise ... are wholly reasonable. For us, it's only the late stages of day 1. I don't know what emotions and/or concerns lie ahead.

Pep StreebeckDo you have hobbies .. even ones that are marginally of interest,, that you can use to distract you from the news and the doom and gloom ? If not .. this would be a great time to get some ! Google alone can be a great source of interest and mind-occupying !

I might take one up! I should let someone pick, because I can't think right now.
