My kids watched it when they were little but we are all watching it again while stuck at home. Fantastic show with heroes, villains, tragedy, loss, humor, and triumph, engaging for all ages. The meerkats have surprisingly complicated social lives. Seasons 1-3 are on Amazon Prime, Seasons 1-4 are on Animal Planet Go. For those that don't know, Meerkat Manor is the story of The Whiskers, one of the most successful meerkat mobs of the Kalahari under the leadership of dominant pair Flower and Zaphod; along with Zaphod's brother and occasional troublemaker, Yossarian. The show follows them over a 4 year period as they compete against their arch rivals, the Commandos, the Lazuli, and others, to scratch out a living on the Kalahari.

I love animals. I think I'd have a tough time watching when they get hurt or killed. I remember seeing commercials for it all the time.

It is sad when they die but there is so much more that's exciting and happy. Like when a 4 week old meerkat pup decides to go hunting with the adults and they have to carry him home because he fell asleep. Or the babysitter sneaks off with a roving male and gets scolded by mom. Or you see a pup crawl from the burrow for the first time and over a couple seasons see it grow and become a productive adult of the gang. Or a year old male, basically a meerkat teenager, sneaks out and mates with the arch rival groups dominant female. They are fascinating creatures and become so acclimated to people that they treat them as part of the environment.

Man it's been a long time since I heard anyone mention that. I remember it being almost like a phenomenon and everyone apparently watched it.
