This is with everyone staying home and taking serious measures. This is NOT going to be a matter of throwing parties like "the war is over!" Seriously, people need to get away from the attitude that this peaking will mean it is over. It basically shows you how you need to live in order to keep it from spreading. Any focus on the peak of the virus is strictly about how to keep hospitals and resources from reaching the point of complete overload.
The hopeful attitude about "things opening up" is exactly what we don't need. We need a focused transition into re-opening the economy, while still not transmitting the virus. I don't think people are learning this. Honestly, the attitude is "When can I resume the party?" This attitude will create a second wave really quickly. That "never forget" talk after September 11th or Pearl Harbor was nice talk and probably felt good. We seriously need people to stop thinking when the peak is over we are done with this.
Really, I see so many people on other places posting about their main concerns about things re-opening, and those things are concerts, weddings, sporting events. Zero thought about what we are really going to re-open to. Zero thought about realizing you just may not be able to afford eating out anyway. Zero thought about what you used to do for fun is not going to be feasible any longer. I don't want to be a total downer here, but the party will not be resuming the way that it was going on before. It's just reality.

Good news, bad news: My state (Illinois) is projected to have enough TOTAL beds to weather the peak...but not enough ICU beds.

Most people make all of their important life decisions based in what the movie theaters say. You're the weird one, bro. (Kidding, of course.)
