I love Spring in MI. It's just a beautiful time of year. I really like the rain. I was watching the rain through my window, and all.the birds at my feeder, cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, black birds. They aren't bothered by the rain or anything else.
It occurred to me that the Coronavirus could wipe us all out and the birds would go on enjoying spring and not miss a thing. It gave me peace for some reason, knowing the world hasn't stopped, only we did.

Hello! Fellow Michigan person here. I'm in a city area, but have a generous backyard. And my "work from home" spot looks right out of my dining room into my backyard. My usual work from home hours are late afternoon thru early evening. I've got a good deal of birds that visit, and quite a bit of trees and evergreens lining my fence.
Usually this time of year I'll have a robin family that I think lives under the evergreens once the baby is walking. Spend a lot of time watching the adults feed the baby when it is hopping around learning to fly waiting to eat. Also have a lot of bluejays, a lone cardinal every now and then, and a woodpecker who is brown with a bright red triangle on the back of the head. Love watching them hang out and do bird stuff.
One year in the winter maybe one before last, we had a day that the high temp during the day was I think -20F. I worked from home and sat in my dining room all day. The closest tree is literally right out the window, so 15 feet from my chair. For half the day there was this huge bright red cardinal sitting in the tree. His feathers were all puffed up, and he just sat there looking around.
So yeah, I love watching the wildlife and how oblivious they are to our problems. Also have a ton of squirrels. Mostly black ones, some grey and some of the regular brown ones. And the occasional chipmunk living under my deck or running around in my gutter system like he's in a video game.
Welcome from MI!!!!

I love seeing cardinals in winter. They are so pretty in the snow. There's a cardinal couple that comes to my feeder, and I wish I could see their babies!

I have never seen a cardinal baby, or many baby birds actually aside from robins. I have noticed the cardinal hanging around looking for his girlfriend, and she was flying around in the neighbors yard. He kept going over there, then coming back to the tree by my window. Pretty sure they were doing some family stuff.
Can't say I really like the blackbirds. Not the crows - the little ones with the greenish heads. They swoop around and screech, and make nests in my siding. And they hang out when the other birds are finding worms, then steal the worms. The crows I like though, but haven't seen many in quite a while. I had to rescue one with a broken wing once. That was an adventure!
It's almost cutting the grass weather. The birds always appreciate when I do that, because they all come and hang out in the short grass looking for food. Are you in a rural or city area? I am right outside of Detroit.

I'm outside of Detroit as well, in farm country. I work in Wayne county though.

I love Spring in MI. It's just a beautiful time of year.Love it here in Ohio also. So great as I am riding my bikes the last few days in the country seeing the grass turning greener, buds blooming on trees and flowers growing.
