That is actually the very first time that I myself have ever seen him play a Villain role in a Movie and I have to say that I think that he did a pretty darn good job in it.
Heck, I also think that his character had a Freaking Awesome Death Scene in the Movie as well.

He has a great snarl built for the echelons of command within the empire. In my mind's eye, I could see him off to the side but in the same room as Tarkin when Alderaan was destroyed.
