I was watching Meet Me in St. Louis last night, and something jumped out at me that I'd never caught, before. When Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien perform "Under the Bamboo Tree," O'Brien is wearing plain pink slippers for the vocal part of the number. In the finale, which is a "cake-walk" kick step, her slippers are blue, with large tufts of yarn on the tops. Perhaps quarantine has moved me to a place where minutiae has come to play an important role in my life. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGqE291qBoA

Good catch. I've seen it countless times including several in theaters, and never noticed.
Something of which I was vaguely aware, but of which I never took special note, is how Garland brings something extra to even a throwaway bit like this that she could do in her sleep. While they're dancing, Tootie is playing to their little impromptu audience, while Esther keeps her attention focused on her, watching over her in support as if to guide her through the steps she's been taught, as a proud and loving big sister would.
Just a small example of how unerring Garland's acting instincts were, and how she was 100% present at every moment.

Perhaps quarantine has moved me to a place where minutiae has come to play an important role in my life. As long as you don't notice that the sticker on the Pennsylvania License plate on a 1987 Getaway Car should have been green instead of blue for that year, you should be ok.
