Thoughts on this series?
I've seen it twice. Both times, I was on the edge of my seat in that pilot. Probably the most suspenseful hour of television I've seen. The rest is a pretty interesting character study of the effect prison has on someone, and Riz Ahmed is brilliant.

Yeah, Chandra took an...unfortunate direction. I didn't have a problem with the courtroom scenes, although the verdict was a bit unbelievable. They would have nailed Naz to the cross after about 5 minutes of deliberation. I take it you wouldn't have been interested in a regular series about the misadventures of John Stone and his various clients, then?

I love it. I watched it when it first aired on HBO. I quickly bought the DVD. John Turturro steals the show.
I've always been a fan of Richard Price's writing.

I always had the wonderment of Gandolfini within the role in my mind, what could've been, although Turturro has a perfect sad sack quality for the role, a certain downtrodden cynicism undercut by a hopeful optimism.

Another important aspect would be filling the shoes of Ahmed.

The 8.5 rating was pretty accurate. Sucks there was only one season.

Fantastic acting. Turturro & Ahmed both at the top of their game.

Loved it.
Made me do a deep dive into Rykers and it is as bad as the show depicts.
