What's your fave food? What restaurants are you going to when lock down is over? I love Asian, and my fave restaurant in town is a little Japanese place with the best vegetable sushi. I also love Middle Eastern! Hummus, falafel, I can't get enough. If your looking for a way to get more veggies in your diet, ME and Asian is something to try including in your diet more. I know Morgana can probably add more than I can about the awesome things they do with veggies in the ME. We're having a big ME spread at work tonight, and I can't wait! Here's a random video about a place in NY I'd love to go to.

I have some bad luck with food because my favorite places always close or get sold.
My favorite food is Kung Pao, but the owner of my favorite restaurant sold it and moved back to Asia and the food hasn't been as good since.
My favorite taco place also sold, and tbe tacos have been more expensive and dry. Al's Italian Beef (which had an awesome wet sandwich) closed all non-Chicago locations.
That leaves just my favorite pizza place.

My and gameboy 's fav food is Thai food. I personally like Thai green curry and Thai Massaman curry which has peanut and tamarind. Oh yeah, Massaman curry. It's the tamarind which gives it its kick. The big distinction between Thai and Indian curry is that the Thai always use coconut milk. The best Indian curries don't rely on coconut milk to smooth it out. Indian curry is a full spice assault! Name is interesting. Massaman is just a distorted form of Musalman which is the Hindi name for Muslims. So this dish is basically Muslim curry. It was not actually a Thai dish. North Indian Muslim traders who migrated to Thailand took it from India to Thailand. Thailand people liked it and added coconut to it. PS - You are right that Thais always add coconut to it. No North India curry adds coconut to it although South Indians do. Also, Indian food relies more on spices to bring the flavour and Thai rely more on herbs.

NY style pizza. Their cheese is so good, I get it drowning in the shit. NY style? I'd take it over what Chicago calls pizza. But Detroit style is amazing.

First thing I said was "Is that Little Caesar's?" Only to find out Little Caesar's is in fact from Detroit. Jon Stewart had a funny bit about Chicago style: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNYasqVmbiwPizza, not-pizza, whatever it is, I like it too. About the only pizzas I don't like are Hawaii-style, and those crazies that substitute marina with fucking barbecue sauce and whatnot.

Little Caesars is in fact from Detroit. But they aren't Detroit style (or anything more than convenient style). Most good Detroit style pizza is restaurant stuff, not delivery pizza.
The closest Little Caesar's ever came to Detroit style was Baby Pan Pan.

I don't know, that looks a hell of a lot like what I usually get. Especially the cheese on the edges. Of course, I'm sure the average restaurant there is far better than a cheap fast food chain.

Oh yeah. That is pretty close. I guess I haven't seen a Little Caesars square pizza in a while. Now I'm getting hungry for a pizza!

I like thin crust with pineapple, green peppers, banana peppers, black olives, mushrooms. That said, LC's hot and ready is a good deal and good pizza. I'll pick up a few to take into work on occasion.

If I have to do pineapple - I like it best with black olive and onion. I kind of doubt I would venture into mushroom and pineapple on the same pizza though!

Hi. A favourite dish of mine is called Baba Ghanouj. It's a dip, similar to hummus, but with eggplant. The eggplant is roasted in the oven whole until soft enough for you to remove the insides, then mash the eggplant with a fork, add olive oil, lemon juice, salt and mix together. That is the basic recipe. I like to add tomatoes to it and a little tahini with a pinch of cumin. Red or bell pepper, green coriander can also be added. You can sprinkle with a little pomegranate, paprika, red pepper, or parsley; it's up to your taste. You eat it with what we call Syrian bread which is similar to pita bread. Another of my favourite ME dishes is a salad called Fattoush. It's ingredients, like Baba Ghanouj, can vary to taste, but the main ingredients are red radish, onion (onion can be omitted if you don't like it), parslane or lettuce (I prefer parslane but if it isn't available I use lettuce), tomatoes, cucumber, mint leaves. Everything is chopped and mixed in a dish. Separately, put some olive oil, lemon juice and sumac in a cup, mix and keep aside. Don't add to the salad until just before serving, then just toss it in. Also you will need Lebanese flat bread, if available, if not then pita bread. Cut into small squares and fry or roast. These are also added just before serving. We don't mix in the bread with the salad but sprinkle on top, but others mix it in. It's up to you. There are endless variations that can be done with the above two recipes, just look them up on google. Enjoy! Enjoy!
