Not yet. It is on my shopping list.
But I recently acquired and watched Panique (1946) dir: Julien Duvivier which is based on the same Simenon novel and stars Michel Simon as M.Hire. This was a very good film so it will be interesting to compare.

Revisited only last week and yes - a rewarding view - I'd rate it higher than PANIQUE although both worth a look. The exquisite Michael Nyman score, a mournful Blanc , Bonnaire's sexual condidence and and the business with the tomatoes (ooh la la!) give it the edge... and clocking in at an hour and a quarter it could give a lot of today's boys a lesson in economy... Here's that tomato moment... When the "Most erotic fruit & veg in cinema " thread arrives I'll be ready... Would also make ideal choice for a voyeur based programme with REAR WINDOW, BODY DOUBLE, THE CONVERSATION, PEEPING TOM, BLOW UP, BLUE VELVET etc
