I think they take place in an entirely separate universe with a separate Peter Parker. And I think this Peter Parker will become Spider-Carnage.
I think that in this universe, Peter Parker has a really bad life and was a much more violent Spider-Man. Hence the poster seen from the Morbius trailer. After the public turns against him, he disappears. I think he will appear in Venom 2, and help Venom defeat Carnage.
However, the Carnage symbiote will try to bond to Peter. This Peter will not have the strength of will to overthrow the symbiote, and he will become the monstrous Spider-Carnage. This will lead to a Sony adaptation of the 1995 Spider-Man animated series storyline "Spider-Wars".
The movie will feature Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire trying to stop an evil Peter Parker in the Sony universe.
What does everyone think?

But then why’s Michael Keaton in the Morbius trailer?

Originally, they weren't, but that might have changed since Disney and Sony renegotiated their Spider-Man deal. Kevin Feige hinted that Spider-Man is the "the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes". As noted before, Michael Keaton appears in the Morbius trailer wearing the same jail suit he wore at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
