What do you yourself think is the Number 1 Scariest Scene in the 1982 Movie "John Carpenter's THE THING" ?

Great movie, but never found anything in it particularly scary. Gory yes, scary no.

When it reveals itself in the dog pen. That's exactly what I say.

The contenders:
a)The kennel scene-when the dogs jump out at Clark and they put the flashlight on the interior
b)The shape in the hallway that goes past Fuchs
c)The Norris chest exploding scene
d)The blood jumping from the test tray
e)Gary getting surprised by Blair and his face getting fused
I think the jump scare that works best is the dogs jumping out at Clark
The most horrific moment is the dogs getting shot in the kennel
The most disturbing scene (for me anyway) is Gary's face getting absorbed by Blair and being dragged off.

The Palmer change scene I felt became unintentionally comical with Windows in the air and making "hiyh! hiyh!" sounds which reminded me of Boney M's Rasputin song.
