They voted most for Sly & The Family Stone at Woodstock, arguably the most famous rock music festival of all. Guitarist Pete Townsend, of late 1960s festival regulars The Who, said they were so tight, so innovative, so on fire (garnering crowd interaction within a difficult situation), it was like attending "psychedelic church" for a generation of hippie kids.
