I'm a voracious reader and generally read about three books every two weeks. With the current shelter-in-place situation, I figured I could make the best of it and increase my reading time. Instead, I've been less able to focus on reading and it's taking me more time to get through a book. Apparently, this is a common problem among readers during this crisis, due to the lack of focus and structured time. Anyone else having this problem? How haved you coped with/remedied it?

I’ve given up trying to conquer longer novels right now- instead I’m sticking with short stories and novellas. I’ve ever revisited some books I liked as a kid just to try and keep in the habit.

Yes, because relaxing activities like reading are broken for me while I'm not craving relaxation from anything.
Besides, I'm a nighttime reader... it's nearly 3am right now, might as well be 6pm.

I've had this problem for a while now. Haven't really read much in the way of books since 2018, in fact. I used to read tons of history books, but I have no very little stuff to read and I'd need to browse the bookstores to decide on titles. But of course that's not a possibility at the moment.

I read about two to three books a week. That hasn't changed. Right now I'm reading short stories by Philip K. Dick. I've got books lined up to read.

I dated someone who loved reading PKD books. Adored his writing style. To be fair, I really did give it a try.

OT: There's the strangest adverts on this page,....
1) 4 signs you're about to die of a heart attack
2) How to empty your bowels every morning
Gosh, what a divine combo.
And now back to your scheduled program.

I've ben having the same problem. You would think with the lockdown you would have enough time for reading, but I've been so lazy this recent weeks, I have trouble getting anything done.

No, I finished a couple of books which I actually kept putting aside.
