www.mentalfloss.com/article/588290/best-selling-artists-of-all-timeInteresting list.....while there are few, if any surprises with many of the "big" names on this list, there are still quite a few surprises with some of the other names that appear here.....for instance, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, and...... Taylor Swift (not, btw, questioning that she has sold a lot of albums.....but just the fact that she's ALREADY (at such a young age) this high on the "All-Time" list!) Who knew ?? ( DISCLAIMER: If you look at similar lists on different websites with this same topic, you'll notice that (just about) none of them seem to agree on the exact order of these artists, and the total number of "units" they've all sold..... A lot of these lists just show the bad taste of certain people. If you took out American sales, I doubt Garth Brooks would even make the top 100.

The Seekers from Australia should be on that list, they have sold over 50 million records worldwide.

I've seen this list before on Wikipedia. Yeah, the country artists tend to surprise people, because it's a genre that a lot of people completely ignore, but it's pervasive in the south and it's a small enough genre that everyone who does listen to it tends to listen to the same handful of artists. Plus, many of the big names have had a lot of crossover success as well. So when you can get almost everyone in certain parts of the country buying your albums, and then a lot of people elsewhere, that totals up to pretty big sales. As someone who grew up in the south I can testify that I've heard most of these people from everyone I grew up with. Strangely enough, my parents were rockers, and I ended up preferring my parents' music to the country that most of my friends and extended family listened to.

The Indian duo Nazia and Zoheb should also be on that list having sold over 65 million albums world wide. The problem with that list is that its ignores plenty of bands/duos and solo artist that have sold far more albums than many that are listed.

The biggest surprise to me was Barbra Streisand. Otherwise, it was fairly predictable.

Shame there aren't comparable lists from same sources for all countries. At least 15 of those I'd be surprised if they made the UK Top 100
