Red Eye Time Travelers Wife Mean Girls
She’s been one of my favorite actresses over the past 15 years or so. I love when I see her in films.

She's one of those actresses for me that's forgettable. like she's average-ish but nothing really stands out and even worse she's got a habit of appearing in movies that are generally forgettable. or to put it another way... she's not a actress that would elevate a movie for me as her overall presence is off/lacking if you ask me. so, if anything, she's more likely to have a negative effect on a movie than a positive one especially in terms of re-watch value which is where movies are ultimately made or broke. so while I would not outright avoid a movie she appears in, as I have seen about 12 of her movies, it's like if she's in a movie it's possible she could bring it down a bit. or at least she won't elevate it as I think that's partially why I don't care for some of the movies she's appeared in as I may have mildly liked some with the right actress but she 'might' have been the difference between a mild Thumbs Up to a Thumbs Down. for example... The Time Travelers Wife (2009) might be a decent example of this as I remember watching it, and it was decent enough, but in the end I had no desire to re-watch it which I think may have been mainly because of her. so while I would say she's a competent actress, her overall presence lacks which ultimately puts her in that so-so range for me as it's fairly easy for some random actress beat her overall presence if you ask me. MarvI wish I could have said the same but I think her overall presence is lacking. or to put it another way... she's not going to elevate a movie in my book. plus, like I mentioned above, she's got a habit of appearing in forgettable movies which is not helping her case either. in fact, the only movie I like that she appeared in would be Midnight in Paris (2011) but I got to get around to re-watching it just to make sure I still mildly like it as I have not seen it since Feb 2014 which was my 2nd viewing of it. but from memory it was more of the style of the movie that carried it which was probably because of the director. but like I mentioned above I think a movie you mentioned as one of your favorite performance of hers, The Time Travelers Wife (2009), would have been a better movie with another actress as it might have been the difference between a mild Thumbs Up and a Thumbs Down for me (because as it is, I ultimately went with a Thumbs Down because I have no desire to re-watch it and that's where movies are ultimately made or broke is based on whether I want to re-watch it from time-to-time or not. but I will say it was decent enough for a one time viewing when I viewed in in Feb 2014.). because I don't think her general presence can carry a movie as well as I think another movie that's probably comparable on some level that's noticeably better is The Age of Adaline (2015) (7/10 ; within my top 155 movies). although this movie focuses more around the female as the central character where as The Time Travelers Wife, if I recall correctly, was more around the male lead (which was probably a good thing otherwise it would probably have been a bit weaker if McAdams tried to carry it like Blake Lively did in The Age of Adaline).
