Okay, in this 1984 Brian DePalma thriller, something very goofy happens. When Craig Wasson is stalking the dark haired girl at the mall, he watches as she goes into the fashion boutique. It's at the 37 minute mark. The woman asks for a pair of panties and she goes into the fitting room, takes off her own panties and then proceeds to slip on the brand new panties! What?! You can't try on a pair of panties in the fitting room. So, she goes back to the worker and says "Sorry, I don't think they're quite what I'm looking for. Here, you can have them back." So, do the panties now go back in the "slightly used panties" shelf? That is the ultimate in tacky.
Great movie, though.

The secondary market for used panties is nothing to sniff at.

I’ve asked this question before when I went into a Victoria’s Secret with a lady friend.
They have dressing rooms.
They let them try it on but they are so to keep their underwear on.

I thought she kept them on. She puts the pair she took off in a bag given to her by the store keeper which she puts in the bin outside the mall. Wasson then takes them out and puts them in his pocket. I watched the film perhaps about 12 months ago, but this is how I recall the scene played out. I could be wrong and I know you have watched this film umpteen times Mr. Dirty. You're right, she does keep them on. I guess I was thinking that she went into the dressing room to see if the panties fit right and wasn't yet decided on buying them, in which case returning them to the sales girl would just be all kinds of wrong. But if she was trying them, with full intention of making a purchase, that would be an entirely different story. I just never thought about changing underpants at the store.
