oh that sad - I watched WEDDING IN BLOOD a couple of weeks ago - one of his best - - there was certainly something "of the night" about him...
Impressive CV - a saturnine, lugubrious presence much in demand by most of the major European directors of his era...Godard, Hitchcock, Costa Gavras, Clement, Chabrol, Sautet, Bunuel etc THE INFERNAL TRIO (with a memorable getting rid of the bodies sequence) DANGER DIABOLIK , BELLE DE JOUR among many other highlights.
