And/or movies you usually watch up to a certain point. Any of you know of any movies that you usually watch in one of these ways?
Let me give some examples:
I enjoy Jaws. I think it's great from beginning to end. I can watch it from beginning to end. I don't have any problems with anything from beginning to end. But yet when I watch it, I usually watch from when the three guys go out to the ocean onward to the end.
If I watch The Exorcist, I usually watch from when Regan starts to misbehave (like when she pees on the carpet) onward. The earlier stuff is alright, but I feel like the movie doesn't "kick in" until she starts to misbehave.
If I watch Cast Away (2000), I usually watch from the plane crash onward. The earlier stuff is fine (same with the later stuff on the main land), but the movie is especially compelling from the plane crash onward.
I think a lot of people usually watch Full Metal Jacket up to when the second half starts and then stop the movie.
As far as watching up to a certain point, the only movie that comes to mind is The Lost World: Jurassic Park. I hate the part when the T-Rex gets loose in San Diego. I feel like the movie falls apart at that point and doesn't recover. Everything before that is decent entertainment although it's certainly not as good as Jurassic Park. So I usually watch up to when they're getting ready to head to San Diego. The movie probably should have ended there anyway, but I digress.
I think the reason why I usually watch some of these movies from a certain point onward (and/or up to a certain point) is maybe it's how I used to view them when I first saw them on cable. If I watch them on DVD/Blu-ray/HBO then that's a different story.

I've seen Goodfellas a few times, but never from the beginning.
Back in the late 90s, I used to watch a partial VHS recording of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan that had been recorded off the TV. The person who did the recording had only commenced it at the point when the USS Enterprise leaves drydock. I barely knew what happened during the entire first act of the film until I re-recorded the film myself in 2000.

Annie Hall, from when they're lining up to see the movie.

I don't like to watch the ending of OHMSS when Bond's wife gets killed. It's such a depressing ending and I want to feel good after watching a Bond movie, so I usually switch off the movie before that scene.

Easy Rider, I've been known to watch it up until the three of them go into the Southern diner. It's all bad times after that......

None. if I go out of my way to watch a movie, which is typically what happens when I watch movies in general, I always watch it from a proper source and from beginning to end.
it's possible I could catch a little bit or piece of a movie on basic cable TV once in a while but this is getting rarer though and has been this way for quite a few years now as when I was younger I used to watch more movies on basic cable with bits and pieces of it but I fairly rarely do it anymore as when I watch TV it's usually reality TV show variations and the like. basically shows that are good disposable entertainment. so when I watch a movie (especially movies that are among my favorites and thereabouts) I nearly always watch it from a proper source from beginning to end.
That movie is decent until R Lee Ermey checks out and then it's totally boring not long after that and never recovers. in fact, I could not finish re-watching it in Nov 2016 and turned it off at 1hr16min due to boredom as I could not take it anymore.

This is how I feel as well. It’s almost like two separate movies.
