She's been missing a long time. I would think chances of finding her alive are slim.

I also think the chances of finding her alive is very slim. But people have been found that have been missing longer than her.

Sounds like whoever the "young man" she was talking to showed up before daybreak and took her away, possibly offering another place for her to stay. According to her friend and the last people to see her, she wanted to stay where she was. This indicates she was waiting for someone. If she was murdered, it would've happened at another location nobody knows about, probably far from the lake.
The tent being discovered first unzipped and then zipped up again 2 hours later is a bit odd, although it could've been zipped up by Maddy's friend when she came to pick up her belongings.

Madeline McCann has been gone about 13 years now. Not 9. Yeah, its not likely she's around anymore. There was a little girl who disappeared in Toronto back in the mid 80s. Her body was never found; no perpetrator was ever found. Composite sketches of what she would look like (as she would have gotten older) keep being updated right to this very day. It's most likely that she is probably gone also.
