My feelings for Faith are tumultuous to say the least but overall I come out loving her every time. It's interesting to break apart her character and ask "what if this happened; would it change this about her?". I really love her relationship with the Mayor as well.

I loved the character of Faith and her complex relationships with Buffy (I liked how the two of them came to an understanding by the end of the series) and Angel (I especially loved how loyal Faith was to him after he’d helped her).

I love Faith! I agree with what chaliceofevil said, and want to add that she had great character growth and development and is yet another character who gets redemption (which is yet another reason I love BtVS and AtS). I also loved her relationship with Wesley and their arc in Angel S4, and her relationship with the Mayor.

She is my favourite. I especially liked her story arc on Angel.

Yes. She was a great addition to the show. Her arc complemented Buffy, Angel, and even Wesley's very well.

I'm in the minority, but I never cared for Faith. She gets on my nerves.

I love Faith. I wish we saw more of her, particularly her perspective and backstory. She had truly great character development over BTVS and AtS.

I love Faith. I wish we saw more of her, particularly her perspective and backstory. She had truly great character development over BTVS and AtS. Word for word my own reaction. That her spin off never materialized was a huge disappointment, but I'm forever grateful I got Dollhouse anyway... I was just remembering that I first watched Buffy without watching Angel; let me tell you, her season seven character was a real point of confusion. I was all, "Wow, Faith had a real change of heart, I guess." Never knew Buffy went to LA in season 4, never knew about Wes, or about Faith's redemption arc. It was wild when I finally saw it. Similar experience here. I never liked Angel so I didn't watch the show the first time around. When I got together with my SO, he made me watch Angel. I ended up loving it, and though some of Faith's best episodes were on Angel. Plus "I Will Remember You" was heartbreaking, even for someone who didn't like Angel.

Liked her better on Angel than on Buffy. Was pretty indifferent to her overall.

I loved that she was basically a corrupted version of Buffy - what Buffy could have ended up as without her friends helping her to keep on the straight and narrow.

@empressofglasgow appletart I really like Dollhouse, too. Wow, that would be hard. I was lucky to be told that Faith would be on AtS, so I definitely watched those episodes, plus any other crossovers I heard about, including IWRY. There was a poster on IMDb who watched all of Angel first. When Buffy showed up for the first time, they had a similar reaction. I was never a huge Angel fan, either. I think that I watched until Hero and then just went with the crossovers. I was later able to find time to watch AtS and ultimately I liked the series a lot.

I wish they had more time to flesh out Faith's character with backstory or at least more of her perspective. I do think The Wish (which was my very first episode) did a decent job of showing what might have been, particularly regarding Buffy.

I do think The Wish (which was my very first episode) did a decent job of showing what might have been, particularly regarding Buffy. I was thinking the exact same thing about Buffy as she appeared in "The Wish" when I wrote the above post. The episode really brings to light the impact her relationship with her friends has had on her and how it's saved her from turning out like Faith - empty and broken and fighting for no real cause other than her own. I don't think the writers really had the time or inclination to focus any more time on Faith at that point. The oft-proposed Faith spin-off series would have been the perfect opportunity for that, but sadly it never happened. Oh well. At least Joss gave us Dollhouse. That show is definitely underrated.

Faith was fun, easy-going, wild, broke the rules, and let loose in a way Buffy never could, but she was also tortured (much like Angel was) and had demons to overcome – which I thought made her character’s journey one of the most interesting/complicated ones on either show (plus I was glad that, even after she began the slow journey towards ‘redemption’, she never fully lost her edge).
I kind of loved the 'friendship' that slowly formed between Angel and Faith. While Buffy's reaction to what Faith had done to her/her friends went in one direction (and I'm not blaming Buffy here, it was understandable that she held a grudge), Angel's went in the other direction (even after what Faith had done to him and his friends). Angel wasn’t bogged down with hurt feelings or a sense of betrayal, he gave Faith the ‘tough love’ she needed and consequently managed to help bring her back from the brink - I say ‘helped’ because Faith did it too, Angel didn’t do it for her.
I really loved the end scene between Faith and Angel from the Season 2 premiere, with her teasing him about singing ‘Mandy’, and they just had such a lovely ‘older brother/younger sister’ vibe going between them I thought (just try to forget the part in BtVS Season 3 when she attempted to seduce him). Funny that Faith almost always seemed like the ‘younger sister’ in her relationships, first with Buffy, then with Angel. I said it previously, but I particularly loved how loyal Faith was to helping Angel after he’d helped her, making it perfectly clear to Wesley straight off the bat that she wasn’t going to put down Angelus, she was going to help Angel. Other than her father/daughter relationship with the Mayor, the relationship with Angel was my favourite one between Faith and another character.
