The Sweet/Sweet was a fun band. No Beatles, but they were a hoot to listen to. One of the bands of the 70's that everyone had at least one record.

Shit, sad to hear that. A band that were ruined by being tied to the Chinn/Chapman production company (they didn't even have a separate record contract themselves at that time) and whilst it made them some money by getting to write the "B" sides made Chinnichap much more. A great underrated heavy rock band who were much better live where they often shunned their hits apart from "The Sixteens". Mick Tucker may well be the most underrated drummer in UK 70's music. Would have been the support for the Who at Charlton had Connolly not been kicked in the throat a few days before the gig on leaving a pub (always a pub in Brian's life) "Desolation Boulevard" will be on the turntable tonight in my gaff.
