It was lovely and almost meditative.
My dog, who will bark at a moth, just stared out of the glass back door, not making a noise. I was getting ready to take him to go out. I sat down to put boots on and looked up and he was just watching her. Silent. So we sat and watched her as long as she grazed.
I'm still baffled my dog never tried to bark and lunge at the door or anything. He was as transfixed as I was. She was beautiful, so soft and brown, with that little white tail poking up in the air. Then she just slowly wandered into the woods, and we watched. Didn't go out until she disappeared.
Isn't it nice how the little things can bring big smiles.

The herd that uses our yard as part of their path aren't around here anymore. Two homes put up fences, effectively blocking their access through our yard. Every house on this street, except us, neighbor on the other side, and one diagonally across from us, has a fence. I'm wondering how they get to the woods on the other side of the street now. In some way, at least they won't be eating the flowers/bushes.

Oh, I would love that. I have friends who live in areas where deer mingle with the neighbors. I live between two huge parks, but I don't think there are deer in either of them.

Although the location is not near me (a few stops away on the train) deer have been taking advantage of the lockdown by wandering around East London housing estates.

Not so nice when they carry ticks that have Lyme Disease. A couple of people, including one kid, in our neighborhood got Lyme. We have too many deer. They are pretty, though.

Yeah, that's the bad part. The ticks. Having a dog, that worries me. My best friend is worried her dog has Lyme Disease. I think the lockdown is causing the wildlife to venture into areas they usually wouldn't visit, or at least not visit quite as often. I use the flea & tick collar for my dog as opposed to the monthly drops on the neck. My last dog had Lyme, so I made sure to get my current one tested. Boy she sure was pretty to watch though.

It's really fun watching the fawns with their mom, especially the very young ones. Haven't seen any so far this year. Usually they're all over the place.
