I've asked this question on Film General, but I figured I may as well ask the experts here on the Horror forum.
It's an old 80s horror I haven't seen since 2011. I'd love to watch it again this coming October.
I'm finding it impossible to get my hands on. At least here in Europe (Region 2). The only versions I can find for sale appear to be all Region 1 DVDs from the US. The sequel is easy to find, even in stores here. But the 1984 movie isn't even on iTunes. And that platform has a LOT of content. Is there some kind of copyright issue or something?

I know this isn't what you asked, but it's on Amazon Prime, so it's available to watch... but thst might just be in the US as well.

I was ready to offer you my extra copy, but it's region 1. 😩 Not sure why it has such limited availability where you are. It's pretty easy to find state side...

You might be right about copyright issues outside of the US. It’s never been available in Australia in a digital format... including streaming sites or even iTunes and google play (on there, but blocked). However like you mentioned, the sequel is easy to get.
The British label ‘Arrow films’ did release a 2 disc blu, which I think only got a region A release. Usually that means there are distribution issues involving the film’s rights. On the vinegar syndrome website, which at the moment is closed, it explains this sort of issue. As they usually release all regions, but there were certain releases where they couldn’t do so and it had to be region A locked.

I noticed that about the Region A-only Blu ray when I looked up Arrow recently. It's very unusual, because every other Arrow title I know of got a release on this side of the Atlantic.

If you have access over there, you can stream it on Tubi. Not allowed in Europe due to EU laws unfortunately.
