There are some brands I prefer but in general I am not brand loyal.
What about you?

I only buy Best Foods Mayonnaise ("Hellman's" east of the Rockies). That's largely because I grew up with it. But, I've tried others, and they all seem to have a sweetness that I don't care for, or the texture is different. Clover of Sonoma is my go-to line of dairy products. They're very popular, locally, but I don't know how large their distribution range is. They're known for great quality control ... and their logo "Clo the Cow," is cute. Beyond that, I can't think of anything in the food department. Like you, Enigma, there are brands that I'll buy first, if they're available. S & W canned garbanzo/kidney beans, pops to mind. I do buy from the Crest line of toothpastes. I was very flexible for many years, but other major brands - especially Colgate's - began to irritate my mouth.

Catman goes with store brands most of the time. Except for mustard. It must be Plochman's.

But sometimes it is almost $5. I will substitute then. I don't find the others sweet. To me there is too much horseradish in some brands. Like catman I use a lot of store brands. Walmart's great value is very good. The catsup I avoid but most are fine. But I wouldn't say I am very loyal. Lol

I'm brand loyal for certain things, i.e. Progresso soups, Bigelow and Celestial Seasonings teas, Wishbone salad dressing, Kraft Miracle Whip, Wonder Bread, Talk of Texas pickled okra, Stouffer's frozen meals, Nathan's hot dogs, Pepperidge Farm hamburger buns, Arnold's Jewish Rye, Green Giant frozen veggies in a box, Blue Belle shebert its the taste that makes a difference to me. If I don't like the taste of a certain brand, there is no point in me buying it no matter how cheap because I'll end up throwing it out.

Yes, graeter's when I can get it, only Whole Foods now carry it around here and I haven't been shopping in Mobile since we've been self isolating, I just go to the stores in my suburb. I now have a Publix that's 2 1/2 minutes away by car.

Not consciously. I like Rao's Homemade tomato sauces and Dave's Killer Breads. But it's all specifics and sometimes when I try other breads I'm disappointed, or I don't like the numbers or wateriness of other sauces.
Can't say I buy that much of brands with TV ads.

When I drank pop I bought name brand. As for other foods I go with the store brand. I really can't tell the difference between name brand and store brand. But when buying canned vegetables/fruits* the store brand generally has more liquid in it. The so you have to take that in account with the price
* Except for pineapple

not really.
I buy a lot of generics that really don't taste much different than the brand names.
The only thing I'm loyal to is Tastykake. I don't buy Hostess anymore.

For some things: peanut butter-if eating out of the jar-must be Jif. Frozen spinach Pictsweet. We've tried others-store brand & Green Giant, etc-those tend to be woody. Vaseline-only vaseline-the others are too watery. And never ever get store brand tp. We've tried many store brands, & as many of you probably know-you use about 5x as much to Charmin/Cottonelle's. And those feel better

Yes I tend to be brand loyal. I buy multiples when they are on sale. Other things, I don't really care. Will NOT buy store brand TP or generic peanut butter. For me, it's more a matter of the ingredient list and where it's produced or product of. I generally refuse to buy food products made in China. Unless they're a Chinese product (water chestnuts, mandarin pieces for example). Sorry, really going out of my way to shop Canadian.

I don't buy brands because I saw them on TV either Nj But what used to get me (pre-covid) were fast food commercials. I'd see a new hamburger ( burrito, sandwich etc) and eventually had to go try it. Those commercials get to me.

Well, my father is simple and any brand of decent quality may work for him. He would prefer to wait for discount. I specifically look for reputed high quality brand even though I know that most products are homogeneous and branding is just a way to extract more money. My mother is more like me.
