variety.com/2020/film/news/michael-keaton-batman-the-flash-1234645039/It is being reported that Michael Keaton will play an older Batman set in the Tim Burton Batman universe. The Flash will time travel and also cross parallel dimensions into the Burton Batman universe. Does this mean we could also see Brandon Routh Superman? Or characters from Nolan's universe? This could be something big if WB nails it. DC decided to just go nuts

DC decided to just go nuts They brought Routh back as Superman this year in the Arrowverse cross-over - Crisis on Infinate Earths - a story about the Flash going across parallel dimensions etc etc - it was terrible (OK the budget was low, but that shouldn't impact on the writing/script). Hopefully the film will do better

What about Clooney and Kilmer? Kilmer is looking only slightly better than Adam West these days.

I'd rather a third Batman (1989) movie than this.

I didn’t think the Flash movie was going forward.
I guess that means the dude who played it in Justice League is stil going to be it.

I didn't dislike Miller in the theatrical cut but his recent behavior makes me wish they recast the part. Ironically I was thinking of Ansel Elgort but like hell that's happening now.

I don't know much about The Flash, but the prospect of Keaton returning to play an older Batman is very exciting to me. I mean, I would have loved it to have happened back in 1995 for a third Tim Burton movie, but this is excellent news all the same.

The Flash is by far the biggest comic book superhero to never get a movie. Why can't they just focus on giving him an iconic stand alone movie?
That said, Keaton back as Batman? Yes, please!

I hope he has a cameo where Flash brings him to the DCEU world to help out. Then he goes back to his Burton Universe and they make a Batman Beyond film with Keaton as the Older Batman.

I'd be happy if they just set the film in the Burton Universe, just 30 years later.

I don't want this to be just a glimpse at an alternate universe/glorified cameo.

Very good question indeed. I'm shocked that we never got some half-assed attempt in the mid-2000s slapped together that was directed by Shawn Levy or Peter Berg (one of those guys). Starring Ashton Kutcher I presume.

DC decided to just go nuts I always thought they should bring the multiple DC universes together like the comics. Sometimes dreams do come true.

I would draw the line at bringing in characters from the Nolan trilogy. To WB, do whatever you want with Michael Keaton’s Batman, but leave TDK Trilogy out of this whole multiverse business.

The Flash is by far the biggest comic book superhero to never get a movie. Why can't they just focus on giving him an iconic stand alone movie? That said, Keaton back as Batman? Yes, please! Why do that when you can try to rip off the MCU formula in a quick cash grab? It's been the modus operandi of the DCEU from its inception. They couldn't even wait to give all of their heroes standalones before throwing a bunch of random characters together in a Justice League film. Now they're ripping off Endgame. "Look at how much people loved the nostalgia in Endgame, that was only a jaunt through a 10 year old film universe! I bet they'd love to see Keaton Batman again, let's shoehorn that into the next film." They have no idea what to do with their IP, it's sad. But as you said, I'll take it.
