My favorite of the series, and in my all-time Top 10. The mix of comedy and action was perfection in this one, had some great bad guys, and the chemistry between Mel and Danny was really apparent. And Pesci was just spectacular as the third musketeer (or maybe stooge?).

I have some nitpicks with the writing, but otherwise it is excellent. Very entertaining and funny movie filled with memorable character interactions and dialogue (both emotional and humorous) and the best villains of the franchise. Gary Busey is better, but the other villain in the first movie is forgettable.
That Riggs just takes his date home afterwards as if they weren't just almost killed is ridiculous and I dislike the retcon of Riggs's wife's death. Sure, it doesn't change what happened, it just adds unnecessarily to make Riggs's revenge more personal. It is extremely forced.
Lethal Weapon - 9/10 Lethal Weapon 2 - 8.5/10 Lethal Weapon 3 - 7/10 Lethal Weapon 4 - 7/10

I understand Mel's drunk stupid talk. This movie rocks. Fuck you apartied. Riggs and Murtogh rock. Pesci, and supporting cast outstanding. Underrated fun film imo. Some violence and strong language....

One of my major movie crushes when I was a teenager. With you London. I was too young to know SA from a Brit accent. Super crush, Patsy Perfect...

I actually think Lethal Weapon 2 is where I first heard the South African accent. None of the actors are actually South African. Derrick O'Connor is Irish and he does a very convincing South African accent imo.

They also say the Nail Gun industry did not return until Chris and Snoop in the 'wire'
We're 30 mins from finish, underrated film, pee break from better.

10/10
The best Lethal Weapon film and my second favourite movie of 1989 overall. And there was tons of competition that year. Strikes a perfect balance between action, drama and comedy. The villains are original and genuinely quite nasty, while the dynamic between Riggs and Murtaugh has never been better. The addition of Joe Pesci to the cast was a genius move. Excellent work from Richard Donner.
