We used to get these when I lived in Albuquerque, they were 100% better than Subway. We liked the beef and cheddar.

I looked at their website, and found that the only one in this region is across the Bay, in a spot that inconvenient if I'm only looking for a sub.
Even without trying one, I agree with WKM that it HAS to be 100 % better than Subway ... which is only a few blocks away.

Unfortunately, we don't have any Firehouse Sub shops here in New Orleans. Also, we ain't got Jersey Mike's, In 'n Out, Boston Markets, Hardee's and others. No idea why?

Vegas: We have a Jersey's Mike's in the Publix strip mall about a 2+ minute drive from our house. We tried them once, what a disappointment. We got their Cheddar and beef sub with caramelized onions, the onions were good but the meat looked like someone chewed it up and spit it out on the roll and the bread roll was too soft, as if it was not completely baked. I miss the Kosher delis that I used to frequent up North. At least I enjoy the Publix deli. Having a Publix close by makes up for the fact I don't have a local Trader Joe's.

Have always intended to try one, but never have. I've long since quit sandwich places.

Yes, but a little expensive. They cut the bread right as well (by me anyways). Reminds me of Subway 20 years ago. Good service and fresh toppings at mine.
Let's be honest, without coupons, Subway is not cheap or good anymore. Not to beat up a good franchise that might be out there. The three within my walking distance are fails.
